Re: Teams Connect - shared channels
Microsoft Teams Connect is included with Office 365/Microsoft 365 Business, Enterprise, and Education subscriptions. With Teams Connect, you can create a shared channel and invite external organizations to join - AAD identity is required. Note, if you are an Azure AD premium services user and have subscribed to the Azure AD External Identities service, external shared channels users, who are active users, will be included in your total Monthly Active Users calculation. More information can be found here: MAU billing model for Azure AD External Identities | Microsoft Docs - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/external-identities/external-identities-pricingRe: Shared channels
Great question. Thank you for raising this SreejithSreedharan. Here are some great resources Here is a detailed comparison between channel types https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/teams-channels-overview#channel-feature-comparison Here is a quick guide on when to use which channel. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/why-use-a-shared-channel-versus-other-channel-types-in-teams-e6ad61d0-6b3f-4e1b-baac-63e2978bd92eRe: Teams Public Preview Office Hours - Teams Connect Shared Channels
Hey brkcanada can you please file a support ticket with exact steps to repro and the error you are encountering. So far my understanding the channel is shared between two tenants 1) Contoso tenant - Home tenant where channel was created 2) Softlanding tenant - Invitee tenant with which channel was shared When you access the SharePoint site directly from Softlanding tenant it works but when you access it via a tab app it gives you an errorRe: How do i integrate SharedChannel in to my existing Application?
Hey stefanwey-umb please checkout this Build session where Joey goes into great detail about getting your apps ready for Shared channels. You might have to wait for the latest SDK bits before you can make these changes. I will update this thread with more details once I hear back from our App SDK team. https://mybuild.microsoft.com/en-US/sessions/4d84d73c-08de-4f56-990b-2a73b2037df1?source=sessionsRe: Teams Shared Channels (Preview): Unable to access file or other apps
All members of Shared channels including external members have access to files in the SharePoint site associated with the channel unless admin explicitly blocks it via external sharing settings. Please test it again and raise a support ticket if you need further help.
