If someone is using one of the online Office 365 applications, it would be great if you could print directly to a universal print queue that is accessible by that user in the tenant.

This would make it much easier to print from the online applications, rather than having to download the file and print it from the fat client, or downloading a PDF file and going through an additional operation to print it. This also enables a printing experience from ChromeOS or Linux devices, as well, at least for Office documents.

I would think this would extend to the mobile apps, as well, but I think there is already a suggestion for that.

It sounds like the onedrive integration fits you need:

The same feature is also available directly from Excel if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, I guess I could have said the third alternate is to find the file in OneDrive online and then pick print from there, but again additional steps.

Right now when you pick File | Print... from the online applications, you get one option: Show a print-friendly view. So I guess I'm saying that Universal Print should be offered as second option right there, as well.

@JoelDKraft thanks for the feature request. You are spot on!

This is definitely planned. We added the feature in Excel web and we are working on other apps.

I'm going to mark this feature request as a duplicate of another one because the other one came first and it has some upvotes. Please upvote this one: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/universal-print-feature-requests/print-from-word-online/idi-p...
