How to combine Direct print and Print anywhere?
I have been tasked with setting up Universal Print. The requirements are that users must be able to print directly to any printer but also have the option to use "Print anywhere" (for printing sensitive documents) and pull that print job from any printer. I cannot figure out how to configure this. From Microsoft's documentation this should be possible. On https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/universal-print/fundamentals/universal-print-anywhere-overview it states Registered printers can participate in one or many Universal Print anywhere queues and even in combination as a direct printer." All printers are currently configured with Job release option > Direct print. As per Microsoft documentation here https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/universal-print/fundamentals/universal-print-anywhere-member-printers to enable Print anywhere the Job release option setting has to be changed to "QR code". But setting this option disables Direct print according to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/universal-print/fundamentals/universal-print-qrcode. We have some clients froom our side, which aks for this, because of mixed environments with Windows, MacOS and Linux based workstations for the users. as i read, there where already some other posts in the past for linux and MS uni print. I'm trying to install the Universal Print Connector app on a VM running Windows Server 2022 and am getting the message below. It seems that the app is using IE despite Edge being the default browser. AI recommended using WebView2 Runtime to fix this however I had no success with that. Any solutions would be very much appreciated!willrsSep 09, 2025Copper Contributor21Views0likes0CommentsCustom forms broken since last update
We use custom forms to print custom paper sizes. Settings were working fine before last month and now (since the current rollout) they're broken. Settings can no longer be selected. I'm so tired of MS rolling out half baked updates for this product and breaking our environment. I have enough on my plate as it is. We pay good money for the licensing. Get this fixed.chugAug 05, 2025Copper Contributor121Views0likes2CommentsRicoh printer not printing jobs larger than 20Mb
New Ricoh C4510 Printer... smaller documents prints perfectly. The only information about failed job is a "Aborted" state in the universal print job list We are using the integrated Ricoh universal print connector integrated in the machine ("App for universal print" (https://www.ricoh-usa.com/en/app-for-universal-print) We have other two konica printers that can print the same print job perfectly (connected to universal print using the konica integrated app) Any help? We have successfully configure universal print and have secure release setup. This is working fine from an android phone and iPhone using the M365 app which needs to be installed. Scan the QR code, finds the printer and job is released. However when scanning the QR code from an iPad using the same version of the M365 app this doesn't work. The QR scan opens the M365 app but doesn't find the printers as it does on the mobile versions. It just lands on the co-pilot page. If you scan the QR code from the iPad and get safari to open the link, rather than M365 Co pilot app, but I get the message "Currently secure release of print jobs is not supported on this device" Can I confirm that this is not supported from an iPad as it works from an iPhone on the same software version. Will support be added to the M365 Copilot for iPad release. IOS says it is supported but not clear if this is only Phones that are supported? Can we have a new role that is one-time use for adding one printer to UP? Many large organizations have remote workers that already have a printer (e.g. employees, contractors or even franchisees). These organizations want to allow users to print on their own existing (personal) printer but have visibility and management of their print jobs. They want to re-use these existing assets to be more environmentally friendly and be more cost effective. This is especially common for organizations using Azure Virtual Desktop or Windows 365. One way to achieve this is to use the UP connector and convert any BYOD attached printer to a UP one. Yes, this will also require support for Windows 11 Home BYOD also, but let's address the contractor Windows 11 Pro devices first. The challenge is it requires Printer Administrator or Global Admin privileges to install the UP connector, and organizations will not give end users this access. The alternative is to do the old school method of setting up a "managed printer" and shipping it to the end user, but then there is no re-use of existing printers and there is even more management overhead.119Views0likes1CommentUniversal Print available for Microsoft 365 Business Premium and F3!

Is there a private preview for the Universal Print Client for IOS devices? We have rolled out the universal print to our Windows and Mac devices. With this done, I was now wanting to be able to see if there was a way to get on a private preview for testing out IOS devices with the universal print client on it. I spoke to a Microsoft tech - showed him the docs where it says Universal Print connector is in preview but it really isn't. If anyone knows a way to accomplish printing besides send to eprint or combo PAC and PAD and no third party connector, I'm all ears. Documentation below leads you to believe you can do it:lledererJun 23, 2025Copper Contributor353Views1like9Comments
