Will be an enhanced Surface Android emulator soon available? Like the Neo one.

Iron Contributor

Hi team,

I ask a while ago if there will be a better, more Surface Duo-specifc, Android emulator which allows to change the hinge angles like the Surface Neo one.

@guymerin(see thread) told me that Microsofts works with Google on this topic. But If I'm correct, the functionality is stillnot included in the emulator?

Now the question. Is this feature still in development? If yes, will it be available before the Duo ships?

Thanks for the information! :)

The existing Surface Duo emulator lets you simulate the hinge angle sensor using the built-in "Pressure" sensor UI (see our recent Testing tips blog). While it doesn't visualize the device in 3D, at least you can test sensor code is running and responding to changes.

Wow, great! Thanks @Craig_Dunn. I totally missed the article.
