Several customers have asked about gotchas or other limitations for using File Server Resource Manager on server clusters. Georgi Matev, the program manager for this feature, responds:

FSRM quotas are fully supported on clustered file servers. We’ve tried to make the experience of working with clusters seamless. For any volume on a shared disk, the admin does the initial configuration on the cluster node which owns the shared disk. When the admin configures the policies, he or she should use the local node name, not the cluster virtual name. Once configuration is done, in cases of failover, no admin action is required. The quota configuration will seamlessly fail over from one node to another with volume failover. The same applies to file screening and reports.
