As a Microsoft partner, you play a critical role in protecting your customers from cyber threats and ensuring their data privacy. Microsoft 365 Lighthouse empowers you to do this by providing insights and recommendations for the most urgent priorities.

As detailed previously, Lighthouse provides a way to create GDAP templates that can be easily applied across all your customers, with built-in role recommendations and the ability to automatically complete role assignments once a customer has approved the relationship.

GDAP offers several benefits for both partners and customers, such as:

  • Improved security and compliance by reducing the risk of unauthorized access, data breaches, and regulatory violations.
  •  Enhanced customer trust and satisfaction by giving them more visibility and control over their data and resources.
  •  Increased operational efficiency and scalability by enabling partners to use Microsoft 365 Lighthouse to manage multiple customers with GDAP from a single portal.

Microsoft has already created GDAP relationships for all existing DAP relationships as part of the Microsoft-led DAP to GDAP transition. However, validating these newly created relationships is still essential to ensure your organization has the necessary roles to access the customers and perform the services they need.

Verify default GDAP relationships
Another milestone to remember is that starting October 9, 2023, DAP will no longer be available with reseller relationships. This means you cannot access your customers' tenants using DAP after this date. Instead, these relationships will have default GDAP relationships, requiring action to assign GDAP roles to security groups for these customers. Using GDAP templates in Lighthouse, you can quickly add new customers to an existing template to accelerate this process.

Start using GDAP templates in Microsoft 365 Lighthouse today
Get started by registering for Lighthouse, logging in with the required roles, and using GDAP to configure delegated access.

We’re also working on new features to allow you to manage your users easily, update your GDAP templates, and create new GDAP relationships as you onboard new customers. We’ll post information as we release these features. In the meantime, we’d love to hear from you in the comments about what tools you’d like to see in Lighthouse to manage your delegated permissions more efficiently across your organization.
