I had seen these 'Temporary change instructions as well'. Microsoft's instructions were not clear as I tried to locate them as well once I was updated to version 2211 and following them didn't seem to work due to the lack of clarity. I had also seen that the change instructions were only temporary as well. And yes they do work as Hen3-Hen3 indicates but part of those instructions was an implication you need to give Feedback to Microsoft as well. Apparently that Feedback needs to be given through the Outlook 'Help>Feedback mechanism'. Giving Feedback in this Forum most likely will not be noticed by Microsoft from other commenters in this Forum who are somehow associated as Microsoft experienced.
One person in this Forum commented that there was still a narrow Side Panel but was happy with this view. I do not see this 'Narrow Side Panel' that was indicated was now there. To me it looks like the Original Location with nothing else on the Left Side that we weren't already familiar with.
I suggest everyone should be giving their Feedback using the Outlook Feedback mechanism as well as in this Forum to make sure Microsoft sees it. I have been on multiple occasions giving my Feedback through the Feedback mechanism myself otherwise in the next version even this option may not be available again.
One further thing Microsoft changed which I very distinctly don't like is that the Order of Mail, Contacts (People), and Tasks on the Left Side is fixed (unchangeable). Whereas when they were located on the bottom (original location), you could change their Order on the Bar at the Bottom.
