"I happen to believe it is better to go with Outlook (in this case) as it is designed to work"
I personally disagree with it, there are so many settings where microsoft did change settings to very limited defaults for "normal home users" - to change them you often need to edit the Registry which is not a mystic (of course it would be helpfull to make notes of what have been changed, if it is reverted by an update to set them again.
Examples: windows taskbar-> the max. number of jumplist items, or the print settings of pdf to low 96dpi which is rediculous and there are many many more. I really don't understand why they cannot provide settings easily to reach and to customize them more, instead of taking away settings - we want more options to customize not less 🙂
So I often have to change something in the microsoft universe, because the DEFAULT which is given, is not always good enough for advanced users. Like pinning a folder on the task bar in windows 11 which is not possible anymore, but there are workarounds too 🙂
