- zackariaCopper Contributorfinally no more ugly bolky emojis
- CWandahl-LiperCopper ContributorChanging the picker from : to ( messes with all users used to the former method and with no good communication when the change happened. I got really confused and irritated when  did no longer work. I just now discovered that (think) is the new way (which does not look the same btw.). What was wrong with using colon?

The team is considering options regarding shortcode functionality for the future. - MaijanenMCopper ContributorJust what cschulze was saying - it's not the same emoji. Definitely affecting productivity!
- KittyHCopper Contributor
Why is the emoji with the shortcut name (womansuperhero) given the name Super Mum, and not Woman superhero? Are only Mums super? Not all women are mothers, and women who don't have, or are unable to have, children are often made to feel 'less than' because they are not mothers. I know diversity and inclusivity is important to you - please can you represent and include all women in your emoji set, not just mums. Thank you.

Thank you for the feedback. We are doing an update to make the shortcode and the tooltip text match woman super hero.

Hello!
I just noticed that the  emoji for a "thinking face" is no longer functional while it was only yesterday. Has this been removed? The emoji in question:
B.R,
Mathias

If you use the emoji search box you can type think and it will find it. The graphic itself looks a little different than the one you shared in this post.
You can also type (think) and it will be a shortcode for it as well. - cschulzeCopper ContributorThat's what I was talking about!
- RadeMMBrass ContributorHonestly, after playing with it for some time I would prefer that there are NO emoji shortcodes, like in Skype of yesteryear, but that there is a keyboard shortcut that opens up the emoji picker where I can type the name of the emoji or choose it with the keyboard cursors.

Thanks for the feedback. I've shared it with the team.

@ the thinking face is missing now, it was available befor that change.
I am using this emoji multiple times a day.

Great feedback. You found something we can improve.
The emoji is there, but is only coming up under "think" in the search so we'll need to add "thinking" as a keyword.- cschulzeCopper ContributorMicrosoft's "Thinking" emojie is missing the hand on the chin. All other vendors do have a his. see https://emojipedia.org/thinking-face/
Microsoft's thinking emojie looks more like "i am pretty insecure" than "hmmm".

Why doesn't MS use the internal standard library for emoji by unicode?
Also, it doesn't look like there is an option to add custom emoji's which this pertains the resolve (https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Femail.feedback-poweredby.uservoice.com%2Fc%2FeJyFUMuOwyAM_JrkRgSBQHLIodKqvxEZY1I2pXR57Pdvqp56Wska2ZqHNHbryMUEfVg1X5Qa0aMnYTcxAgqruNFuRKFmoUh3irdC-TcFpAFT7G8rWQ6L8NooMk6Y2aIR84yeO2PJTVN_X2-1PksnL914PScGzKkkXytBLMNH3kn7lFss5zJNk-CSPZu9Bzzv0vadSg3p8WKFXqSS48LAORZTJoat1BQZxfQdWKRIhe3BF5YJ8O2S15oBj_DYN0yOOvnlDMFiCElb0HpxJ_jFCk4GaBJe9h-G9V95XsFBHGp6HOX81U8LeGS6E5RXvaEdfV3fhbZSobaytaeDSn_seoBd&data=04%7C01%7Cadam.tonks%40quickrelease.co.uk%7C7620c14782594d05912b08d910c4d01f%7Cb47a40ee31f04228b18c4806ca622cbd%7C1%7C0%7C637559260237177150%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=tOJTQC0qpaBRmWscqQ0f7HLIzv0N2in%2Fza9n6WTAdY4%3D&reserved=0) - please update on this or do not mark it resolved.

Thanks for the feedback! The new emoji set is a curated, custom-made set of emojis. Using this set allows us to bring more expressive, animated emojis to users, many of which are unique to Teams and Skype. However, users can find equivalents to most common unicode emojis in this new set.
After the emoji set is released, we will still continue tracking the custom content asks on that UserVoice item - it will not be closed after this update.
- sprengchCopper Contributor
You have a Pride Flag and Diverse Couples? 🙂
- Jason_Schumacher
Microsoft
Thanks for the feedback! Our current emoji set does not include the Pride flag or emojis of couples. However, we will continue to bring future updates that gives users a broader choice of emojis.
- ZorrishCopper ContributorHello,
in the text, you mention how to enable this feature. Could you, please, add instruction, how to disable it?
I use Thumb Up emoji quite often, which has code (y). Now every time, I write (y), emoji picker comes up and automatically selects first emoji in the list, which is for some reason Fingers Crossed, which has code (ys). So if I write (y) and hit Enter, I will automatically select Fingers Crossed emoji instead of Thumb Up emoji being sent.
Not even the order of the emojis in the picker - which should react on what emoji code user is typing - does not make any sense as it is not in alphabetical oder by emoji codes.
If it cannot be disabled, could you, please, at least let us know, how to change order of those emojis?
Also, as was written by anzhyg: Who has decided to force open emoji picker every time open parenthesis is typed?- Jason_Schumacher
Microsoft
Thank you the feedback! Our team will look into improvements for the ordering and selection of these results.
For the thumbs up emoji, entering (y) should automatically convert it to the thumbsup emoji.- ZorrishCopper Contributor
Jason_Schumacher : (y) is only translated as Thumb Up emoji if I write it fast enough, so emoji picker would not show up, which requires quite a lot of luck. If emoji picker shows, it selects first emoji in list (yn) - Fingers Crossed Emoji.
If I close emoji picker by pushing spacebar, the emoji is not translated at all and recipients receives "(y) " message.
The same happens, if emoji picker is closed by Esc. recipient receives "(y)" message.
It would be very OK for me, to just have option, to disable emoji picker.
- anzhygFormer EmployeeI believe typing opening parenthesis and something after that is a common pattern that most of the times does _not_ indicate the wish to insert emoji. Why this cue was chosen to open shortcode picker? Was there any telemetry or user data that suggested that this is a common pattern?
Also, how this would be handled in the languages that have full-width version of parenthesis (e.g., Japanese) or do not have parenthesis on their usual hardware keyboard layout?- Jason_Schumacher
Microsoft
Thank you for the feedback! The parentheses pattern was selected to improve discoverability and to avoid conflicts with common emoticons like 🙂 and :P. However, our team is taking alternative shortcode patterns into consideration.- 2AwesomeCopper Contributor
Jason_Schumacher I'd like to suggest the pattern of a double parentheses "((" as the trigger. Outside of typing in code, I generally don't see them doubled up, however it still easy to type.
- anzhygFormer EmployeeAnother feedback: I noticed that the last two "hand gesture" emoji (heart mark and fist bump) are not Unicode standard. How would they be displayed of I copy and paste the text from Teams to another app (on Windows or otherwise)?
- Jason_Schumacher
Microsoft
Thank you for the feedback! The Teams emojis will appear as a static version of the emoji when pasted outside of Teams.
