Microsoft Teams preview, Video playback is broken

Copper Contributor

Video playback on the new teams is broken.

I can see my own camera feed when going trough the device settings menu.

When I initiate a call I can see my own video for like a couple of seconds, and then it goes grey, I can not see either my feed or the feed of anyone else in the meeting. Other people in the meeting can see me, but I can't see anything.

This is not a camera issue or an OS permission issues, or any other issue other than broken software:

1. "classic teams" works just fine in

2. "preview teams" can get the camera feed while in the settings menu

3. "preview teams" can display video correctly for about a second before dying (won't comeback until restart). Note restarting doesn't help as video in meeting only works for a second

I need the new teams because of its ability to use multiple accounts (important if you are a contractor), but I can't use it because video playback is broken.

Please fix this.

This becomes even more critical now that Microsoft is starting the **bleep** practice of forcing me to use the new teams without even me wanting to. It just randomly decides to change to the new one without any user input. I switch back to the old one and it gives me a pop up asking "to change now or change later?", like f* off! I don't want to change, I can't participate in meetings with the new one because I can't see any one, it doesn't f*g work!
It's like Microsoft telling, "nope you can't have something that works, f* you! Go find some other platform if you want to have your meetings", thanks!
Fix your **bleep**! I paid money for it!

Are you using Windows 10/11 N edition?

I'm using Windows 11 Pro.
I can confirm that today I have seen the video playback function. Can't confirm if this was due to an update, or I just got lucky. I have since stopped using this tool on a regular basis because of this.
My video only works on the Classic Teams - New TEams won't share my video at all. I teach virtual webinars for my business. This is going to either 1) ruin my business or 2) force me to redo my entire process to use Zoom. New Teams is feeling a lot like New Coke - it's not the marketing that tanked it, the product was terrible.
