Teams Mobile (iOS) Not Showing Outlook Contacts in Calls > Make a Call > People - Bug?
We're seeing inconsistent behavior between the Teams Android and iOS apps and are trying to determine whether this is a known issue or bug.
Expected behavior: Outlook contacts (and contacts created directly in Teams) should appear under Calls > Make a Call > People so users can search and place calls by contact name.
Observed behavior:
Android Teams
- Outlook contacts appear under an "Other Contacts" category.
- Teams-created contacts also appear under "Other Contacts".
- Contacts can be searched and called by name.
iOS Teams
- The same contacts do not appear under Calls > Make a Call > People.
- Only Directory Contacts are returned.
- While searching, the "Other Contacts" category briefly appears for a moment, then disappears when the search completes.
- Outlook contacts and Teams-created contacts are not returned in the results.
Additional testing
- Teams is fully up to date on both Android and iOS.
- Same Microsoft 365 account used on both devices.
- Teams does not have permission to device contacts on either device.
- The contacts are not stored in the phone's native contacts app.
- Contacts are visible in Teams Desktop and Teams Web.
- Contacts can be found through general Teams search and caller ID resolution works.
- App cache cleared, sign out/in performed, and devices restarted.
Has anyone else seen this behavior on iOS? Is there a known limitation with the iOS Teams dialer search, or does this appear to be a bug where the "Other Contacts" results are not being displayed?
