Your monthly roundup of what's new in Copilot in SharePoint.
Copilot in SharePoint helps you do more with your content — ask questions, run workflows, and create sites, pages, interactive reports, and Office files using natural language. Here's everything that's new in the last month:
📊 Create live SharePoint dashboards
Copilot can now generate a SharePoint dashboard directly from a list as an interactive HTML report that stays connected to the underlying list. Instead of exporting data and rebuilding a report every time something changes, your SharePoint dashboard refreshes from the list whenever it's opened. Dashboards can also be created from Excel and CSV files.
Why it matters: Most AI-generated dashboards go stale the moment they're created. You export data, generate a report, update the list, then rebuild the whole thing. No more. Now SharePoint can generate HTML dashboards and apps that stay connected to the underlying list data -- unlocking all types of new List-driven experiences!
Sample use cases:
- Project status dashboard — turn a list of projects into a live executive view showing what's on track, at risk, or blocked, with filters for owner, priority, due date, or status.
- Inventory tracker — turn a product inventory Excel into a visual app showing stock by item, location, size, or category, so store managers can instantly spot what's low or overstocked.
- Request or application pipeline — turn a list of requests, grants, or approvals into a live pipeline showing totals, high-priority items, pending approvals, and bottlenecks in one interactive report.
- Recruiting dashboard — turn a list of open requisitions into a live hiring view showing candidate pipeline health, interview progress, and time-to-fill metrics, with filters for department, role, hiring manager, or stage.
- Customer escalation dashboard — turn a list of support escalations into an executive view showing active cases by severity, aging tickets, and resolution trends, so leaders can spot what's stuck before it becomes a fire drill.
Try this prompt: Create an executive dashboard from this project portfolio list showing project health, milestones, risks, budget status, and owner accountability. Add interactive filters and charts that stay synchronized with the list data.

⚡ Launch Copilot prompts from a page button
You can now launch a custom Copilot prompt straight from a page button web part. Drop a button onto a SharePoint page, wire it to a prompt, and anyone visiting the page can run it in a single click.
Why it matters: Page buttons put the right prompt in front of people exactly where they're already working, helping everyone discover relevant, contextual prompts in Copilot in SharePoint — with no need to remember what to type.
Sample use cases:
- On a team's project hub, add a “Draft status update” button that launches a prompt summarizing this week's changes, so any member can generate a consistent update in one click.
- Build a weekly report with “Generate executive report”, include files assigned to me, new sales leads in a pipeline list, and leverage custom skills to tailor your report
- Add multiple buttons to help narrow in on content across your site, “Find operations manuals” or “Find manufacturing manuals”
Try this prompt for a page button: Review deal pipeline list and filter for deals assigned to me, summarize the items closed this week into a live interactive dashboard

💬 A Chat Experience That’s Always Improving
A set of refinements makes chat and skills smoother this month:
- A faster, more modern way to add context to your conversations - Type / in the prompt box to search for and insert files, people, and meetings directly into your chat. The new built-in search makes it easier to ground your prompt with the exact content you need.
- Polished skill cards — a smoother card experience when skills are created and invoked ensures building and running skills feels more seamless.
- A more compact chat — a tidier thinking-steps view and an improved citation hover card make answers easier to scan and verify.
