Event based retention policy ( 5 years from event, maximum of 15 years from creation)

How to implement record management in Microsoft Purview with the specified requirements of deleting project documents after a retention period of 5 years from project status becoming inactive and a maximum retention of 15 years from creation. Please help with the best approach. Thank you.

I'd do the following: 

1. Create a retention label for the project documents that retains items for a maximum of 15 years from the creation date.
2. Create an Event-Based Retention Policy:
   Use event-based retention to start the retention period when the project status becomes inactive.
3. Configure the event-based retention policy to retain the project documents for 5 years from the date the project status becomes inactive.
4. Apply the created retention label to the project documents.
