Over the years, MGM Resorts International has experienced mergers and acquisitions, opened new offices, and evolved into a global enterprise.

MGM Resorts International dominates the Las Vegas Strip, with an enterprise that includes some of the most recognizable and legendary brands in the market—MGM Grand, Bellagio, Aria, and Mirage housing  77000 employees and 6 lines of business - hotel and hospitality, food and beverage operation, retail, live entertainment, convention and catering and lastly gaming.

“Digital transformation is important for us in transforming the way we serve our guests who interact with us through our different lines of business.” says Sy Esfahani, Chief Information Officer at MGM Resorts International

MGM Resorts considers the implementation of Office 365 to be an integral part of that digital transformation strategy. “Our vision is to extend the power of our technology as far forward as we possibly can into two populations—our guests and our employees,” says Bill Rose, Vice President of Product and Portfolio Management at MGM Resort

In fact, the company’s ultimate goal in implementing Office 365 is to manage all six lines of business as one, bringing all its employees into one way of working. “That’s what Office 365 and moving to OneDrive and all the collaboration tools means to us,” says Rodney Lee, Executive Director of the Product Portfolio Management Group at MGM Resorts. “We’re using it to unify the company in a lot of ways—not only in how we work individually, but also how we collaborate with each other.”

The IT team worked with Cognizant Technology Solutions leveraging SkySync, as the tool to help migrate data from Box to OneDrive accomplishing the task in less than 30 days. According to Lee, the migration to OneDrive is saving the company $750,000 in annual license fees alone.

We continue to evolve OneDrive as a place to access, share, and collaborate all your files in Microsoft 365, keeping them protected and readily accessible on all your devices, anywhere.
