The true fix for missing Windows 11 Store App.

Iron Contributor
Here it is ignore other fixes tried them all they don’t work. I lost the Store App in the upgrade from 10 to 11. Even resetting PC never brought it back. So if that sounds similar to how you lost it do this 20 second fix. 1. Open Xbox App
2. Open settings.
3. Click on General settings tab (left second tab on list)
4. In upper right of screen (window) there will be a list of system bundles that are missing (I had three) click install on all of them. When installed it’s done close app.
5. Open Windows settings and go to Apps tab, then Apps and features (very top) scroll down list your welcome Store is back. Go set a restore point cause who knows what a windows update will do next.

@dre76fixitproper But I can't even do step 1 because I don't have the xbox app. To get it, you need the microsoft store app.

You're A LIFESAVER!!!  I had uninstalled the Xbox app since I wasn't a gamer so I had to re-download it via a link provided by someone here in the feed (Thanks pal!!). And yep, the Xbox app fixed it. It is a shame that something so critical to the Operating system isn't easily fixable within windows but has to jump through loops.

OMG, this actually fixed a host of issues I've been having after the Windows 11 upgrade, including the basic Windows apps. I've spent months trying online fixes as well as my own ideas. This fixed EVERYTHING!
I read documention in, I believe, Windows 10 that if you disabled Xbox it would cause other apps to fail or disappear... the jerks at Microsoft made it so app features failed without Xbox being active... I'm probably stating that poorly. I will have to find that old documentation and post it.

Thank you dre76fixitproper, this was genius. The parallel between Xbox and app failures forces users to have the Xbox app installed.

In my case, I didnt even HAVE xbox app, however, through another forum post I found it here.

If you lost the store and xbox app for whatever reason, you can reinstall the xbox app directly which should then move you to this solution which forces the store app.

@dre76fixitproper  - I just want to say "thank you" - That did the trick. I only registered here to pay respect for your knowledge. THANK YOU!

That is awesome. Thanks a lot !!!
You are the best

@dre76fixitproper No luck.  It just sits on "Installing". Does not finish installing.

Sir or Madame,

I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  It worked perfectly and in seconds.  Thanks again.

You are a godsend... Love you bunches

This is so wild! I got a brand-new computer that runs windows 11. It did not have the Microsoft app store on it at all. I have been looking online for over a week to fix this and your solution worked. Thank you so much for sharing. It saved me a lot of troubles.😊

THIS!!!
I have spent 16 hours going through multiple "fix actions" with no success, thank you for your help!! Absolute Legend!

Thank you so much for your kind words. Having reinstalled Windows without any success, I started to get really confused as to why this wasn't resolved after reinstalling.

@dre76fixitproper

Made a whole acct for this as i just want to ensure more people see this fix. My bf had been trying to fix this issue for 3 hours and i found this thread and it literally worked in less that 5 minutes of trying. skip eeeeeeverything else and try this

You are the true genius, my savior
If the Windows 11 Store app is missing on your device, there are several possible solutions to fix the issue:

Run the Windows Store troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in troubleshooter that can help diagnose and fix issues with the Windows Store app. To run the troubleshooter, go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, and then select "Windows Store Apps" under "Recommended troubleshooting."

Reset the Windows Store app: If the troubleshooter doesn't fix the issue, you can try resetting the Windows Store app. To do this, open the Start menu, search for "wsreset," and then click on the "Run as administrator" option. This will reset the Windows Store app and hopefully fix any issues.

Re-register the Windows Store app: If resetting the app doesn't work, you can try re-registering the Windows Store app. To do this, open Windows PowerShell as an administrator and run the following command: "Get-AppXPackage WindowsStore -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register '$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml'}". This will re-register the Windows Store app and hopefully fix any issues.

Check for Windows updates: It's also possible that the missing Windows Store app is due to a bug or issue that has been fixed in a recent Windows update. Make sure your device is up-to-date by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

If none of these solutions work, you may need to perform a clean install of Windows 11 to fully restore the Windows Store app.

@dre76fixitproper This is a true lifesaver! Thank you!

I dont leave feedback because normally I feel stupid and it is a basic fix. I Dont use XBOX so why have it installed on the computer? I bought a brand new computer and rather than having and OEM install it was a prebuilt and i went about removing all the things i didnt need/want. Turns out I was wrong, and after running system checks, repairs and even trying to load on the browser , the MS Store would not load. This immediately fixed it. Thank You!!!!@dre76fixitproper
