The new Microsoft Certified: Power Platform App Maker Associate certification has one exam that is currently in beta: PL-100: Microsoft Power Platform App Maker.

To receive the 80% discount*, use code PL100KLSrise when prompted for payment.

This is NOT a private access code. You can use this code to register for and take the exam on or before 8/14/2020.

*The first 300 people who register can take these exams for an 80% discount! (Why beta exams are no longer free.) The seats are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. You must register for the exam on or before 8/14/2020. Take the exam as soon as possible, so we can leverage your comments, feedback, and exam data in our evaluation of the quality of the questions.

Preparing for Beta Exams

Taking a beta exam is your chance to have a voice in the questions we include on the exam when it goes live. The rescore process starts on the day that exams go live, and final scores are released approximately 10 days later. For updates on when the rescore is complete, follow me on Twitter (@libertymunson). For questions about the timing of beta exam scoring and live exam release, see the Creating high-quality exam: The path from beta to live blog post.

Remember, the number of spots is limited, so when they're gone, they're gone. You should also be aware that there are some countries where the beta code will not work (including Turkey, Pakistan, India, and China). You will not be able to take the beta exam in those countries.

Also keep in mind that these exams are in beta, which means that you will not be scored immediately. You will receive your final score and passing status after your exam is live.

Clicking on the PL-100 schedule button doesn't take me to PearsonVue for scheduling and it takes me to this instead (

I'm having the same issue that @Zaarour has - it appears as if the PL-100 exam is not yet availble

Senior Member

On the pearson VUE checkout page:

Discount validation failed.

Exam: PL-900, Aug 10 at 3:00 PM

  • This discount cannot be used with this exam.

@Zaarour and @hjaeger thanks for the heads up. We are looking into this and will hopefully have a resolution soon.

Hi @allisonkraker ,

I am having the same issue.

@dwainew this is for PL-100, not PL-900. The discount needs to be applied to the correct exam.

Once the redirect issue is addressed, you can apply the code in this blog to the PL-100 registrations until they are filled.

@Kogikoski @hjaeger @Zaarour - This issue should be fixed now. Thanks for flagging.

Tried yesterday whole day and couldn't schedule exam and today finally make it but there was no discount option... Paid the full price for beta it hurts a little bit my pocket. Hope it is worth it

Is the code region specific, I see message "This discount cannot be used with appointments scheduled in India."  Is there a way around this?

The code just worked for me and i got the discounted price. Thanks for sharing.. @ZioDawid just FYI... i believe if this is via pearson, they will allow refund if its cancelled before 14 business days and try scheduling it again using promo code PL100KLSrise

@ZioDawid Please make sure you add the code when the discount is requested. It is not a private access code.

@Akshayr no you must indicate the country in which you reside in your profile. Trying to work around the country restriction is a violation of Microsoft's exam code of conduct/exam rules.

Thanks @Liberty Munson for sharing , this worked me for me today.

@Liberty Munson  still the same issue when trying to register, i'm redirected to . Unable to register to PL-100 from pearson view. The link from the fr-fr doesn't work, we have to use the en-us page.

@Matthieu Megaly  try clearing your cookies; the issue has been resolved.

@Liberty Munson thank you for backing to me, appricate that but I already went through the whole process and it looks like I missed the point to add the code... And paid the full price with tax included.

Dear All,

Please Anyone Give advice about the exam. Why the duration for exam is 230 min and what will be the Varity and the kind of  of Q??

@Ahmad_Almeldeen please review the Microsoft certification pages and FAQs to answer these questions. Anyone responding to such questions may be in violation of their NDA. It's better to review the content that Microsoft provides rather than ask someone questions that might jeopardize their MCP status.

@Liberty MunsonI only discovered this certification last week after passing PL-900 and seeing the MB ones are being discontinued. I'm keen to attempt the 3 new exams and working through the learning material at the moment, but just wondering if there's likely to be another discount for this one, or is today definitely the last day?

Cheers, James

@brynhh The beta codes are only available for a limited time and for a limited number of seats. Unfortunately, these have expired.

@Liberty MunsonThanks for replying and the info. If I sat the exam in the next couple of weeks for example, would I still need to wait like the initial 300 or would results come through straight away? PL-900 is the only one I've done so not sure how beta exams work. And I assume the content and conditions of the exam wont be any different to the initial 300?

@brynhh This is live, so you get your score right away.

Senior Member

@Liberty MunsonOh OK, PL-100 is still showing up as beta on the website for me

@brynhh my apologies, I read this as PL-900 not 100. This is still in beta. No live date yet. so, you will wait for your score.
