How to exclude DEM account from Azure device restrictions

Basically the title. Microsoft says DEM accounts can enroll up to 1000 devices but Azure stops it with its own restrictions. How do I exclude the account from that restriction?

Applying an Azure AD maximum device limit of less than 1,000 to a DEM account will prevent you from reaching the 1,000 device limit that the DEM account can enroll.

To change the device limit go to Azure AD – Users and groups – Devices – Device settings
