Recent Windows Update removed OneNote desktop

Copper Contributor

Hello,

Does anyone know how to get OneNote Desktop back?

I have uninstalled the update KB4579311 but I am still unable to run OneNote Desktop. I've also tried the instructions given here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/install-or-reinstall-onenote-for-windows-c08068d8-b517-44... but nothing changed. I still cannot run OneNote Desktop.

I've also ensured that the default version of OneNote has been set to OneNote Desktop using the instructions here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/change-the-default-version-of-onenote-on-your-computer-f2....

I've also done a repair from control panel>programs and features.

I still cannot run OneNote Desktop. Help would be appreciated as I store all my Uni work on OneNote.

Hello everyone,

There were additional components of the Windows update that had not been properly installed. I have now installed these and have been able to get OneNote Desktop running again and then individually opening and pinning all the Notebooks I had created.
