Microsoft’s Steve Bucci recently posted a great tip regarding an error message you may run into when testing Windows Store for Business if you have some older Win10 clients in your environment. You can read his post here or check out the overview below.

=====

When testing your Windows Store for Business , you may encounter an error when trying to download an application from your Private Store.  The error seems like it may just be a temporary issue: "Try the download again. Something happened on our end".

In reality however, this is expected behavior if you are using a version of Windows 10 earlier than the November Update.  Windows Store for Business requires the Windows 10 OS to be at the November Update (Build 1511) or greater.

You can check which build you are running by going to a command prompt and running WINVER . It should return a screen similar to this:

If the version listed for your Windows 10 machine does not say "1511" (or it has a build number lower than 10586.xxx) then you will need to update that system in order to use the Windows Store for Business.
