Hybrid Migration - "The job has been paused temporarily because the mailbox is locked."
Hello guys,
we are currently trying to migrate mailboxes from Exchange 2013 to Exchange Online via hybrid.
There are some mailboxes which report the following error while syncing:
"The job has been paused temporarily because the mailbox is locked."
We already tried the following:
- moving affected mailboxes to a new database (migrating from there)
- repair the affected mailboxes
- using baditemlimit parameter to create migration batch
- restarting MRS
- restarting Information Store service
- editing timeout paramters in MRS config
This is not happening for all mailboxes!
Thus it shouldn't be a firewall/network problem I guess?
Any idea what might be going on here? MS support was not able to help us so far.

Modify the ReceiveTimeout Setting**: Adjust the `receiveTimeout` setting in the `MSExchangeMailboxReplication.exe.config` file located in the `C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Bin\` folder. Restart the Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication Service after making this change².
. **Restart Services**: Restarting the Mailbox Replication Service (MRS) and the Information Store service can sometimes help clear the lockDanny_Fast

Hello Danny
Sorry to hear you had issues with the migration. I was wondering how you solved the lock problem as I am having the same dificulties at the moment and tried the same "solutions" as you did back then.
Thanks & have a great day.
