Wrapping up 2022, we on the Excel team are incredibly grateful to you for the opportunity to delight you with continued improvements and innovations in Excel.
Throughout the year, we’ve followed up on your feedback with autocomplete for dropdown lists, automatic data conversion settings, new paste option using Crtl+Shift+V, and more.
We’ve also doubled down on the core fundamentals, collaboration, and ease of use, delivering new capabilities like check performance, new text and array functions, new DAX functions in data models and Power Pivot, Excel Live, formula suggestions and formula by example – not to mention continued improvements to Power Query, assigning tasks with @mention, data from picture, natural language query, and Office Scripts.
Watch the video below for more on what’s new in Excel.
In addition to continuing to deliver on core values, Excel made its esports debut on ESPN8: The Ocho in August this year, followed by the Microsoft Excel World Championship and Excel Collegiate Challenge in October through December. Jacob Stern at The Atlantic asks, “How can watching people fiddle with spreadsheets possibly be this fun?” Read his article “The World Cup of Microsoft Excel” to learn more.
