RoamingProfileSupportEnabled - referred to in other policies desc but no policies designed to set it
- Feb 11, 2020
Hi,
It appears that Microsoft have released some new GPO templates - i'm not sure on a version or a date they were available but as of today 11th February 2020 they have resolved this issue.
There is a new policy called "Set the user data directory" and I've set the value to ${roaming_app_data} and this resolved my issue.
In the policy is a link to a page of descriptions of options for this value and instructions on what to do.

Hope this helps everyone!
Thanks,
Mike
Edge Chromium Rollout postponed because of improper roaming profile support.
Really looking forward!
Hi!
81.0.416.62 and .64 same problem. Well, it’s a bit odd they can’t fix it so far.

We are planning to deploy Edge with the following roaming data, we use VMware DEM as tool:
[IncludeRegistryTrees]
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\TokenBroker
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Connections
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Edge\PreferenceMACs
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\SystemCertificates
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\CloudStoreHKCU\Software\Microsoft\IdentityCRL
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SessionInfo
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Security and Maintenance
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\HostActivityManager
HKCU\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppContainer\[IncludeFolderTrees]
<LocalAppData>\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Sync Data\
<LocalAppData>\Microsoft\TokenBroker\Cache
<LocalAppData>\Microsoft\Vault
<LocalAppData>\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy[IncludeFiles]
<LocalAppData>\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\*.*
<LocalAppData>\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\*.*This results in about 3 Mb of data to be roamed. It also roams the logged on AAD account information.
With regular roaming profile you will have to change the default AppData\Local exclusion and move parts of it in.
We concede that above is a bit of a reverse engineered workaround, but it is the best we could with help of Microsoft support.
Support for the Enterprise with roaming in combo with AAD logon and no user intervention at first run is incomplete at the moment.

Hi and thanks!
But have You any ideas when Edge team will fix this? I mean, roaming profile support is essential, I hope they release that. Sure, they do.
81.0.416.72 – no change.
More thanks, Alar.
