Edge PDF Handling
Hi,
We prefer our PDFs to open in Adobe Reader DC due to a few limitations within Chromium (not the browsers fault at all, more the fault of who provided the PDFs).
I've disabled the built in reader via InTune, and it instead prompts to download the file which is exactly what we want. When we then click the button at the bottom of the window to open the file though, it then attempts to open it in Edge Dev... giving us the PDF reader has been disabled page. Can this be changed to the default PDF reader app instead?
Thanks!
Deleted If download is finished you must click on the three dots and set "Open always with Acrobat Reader". I find that annoying too.
Because of some nasty JavaScript-PDF's we cannot use Edge's internal viewer.

FYI, vygadeka has posted in https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/enterprise/adobe-reader-integration/m-p/1377949/highlight/true#M1842 that we now can open PDF files in Acrobat Reader directly from the browser - only caveat is, you'd have to set "always open in system view" once within edge by right-clicking a downloaded pdf file.
The splash screen about edge's internal pdf viewer being disabled is gone as far as i can tell.

Hi Deleted, when you look at the Windows 10 Settings for Choose default apps by file type, and scroll down to .pdf, what is the current value? If you click on the current value, then set it to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC it will start opening all pdf files in Adobe Acrobat Reader after you reboot all open browser windows.

Elliot Kirk thanks for coming back to me. Adobe Reader DC is already set to the default, however when clicking to open the PDF from the Downloads bar it continues to try to do it with Edge Chromium. Testing with Version 79.0.309.40 (Beta)
