Generative AI and the next generation of Intune features
Event details
Join the Intune team to learn about generative AI and what it means for Intune. Hear about some of the capabilities the team is actively working on now--and what we are investigating for the future to empower IT admins with Security Copilot in Intune. Let's talk about how Intune and generative AI can help you manage and secure your devices in the cloud!
This session is part of the Microsoft Technical Takeoff: Windows + Intune. Add it to your calendar, RSVP for event reminders, and post your questions and comments below! This session will also be recorded and available on demand shortly after conclusion of the live event. |

- Murilo_AmorimCopper ContributorDoes Security Copilot data will be stored inside our tenant? Thank you

Hi Murilo, I suggested taking a look at the online doc for all the specific details about how data is handled - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/security-copilot/privacy-data-security
- How about licensing of Security Copilot? Will Security Copilot be included in Intune Suite license? Device query is part of Intune's upcoming Advanced Analytics, but it included in this session. Copilot could mean so many different things and it seems to be confusing what licenses are required for each "Copilot" functionality.

Hi Panu, For more information on Security Copilot licensing, please refer to the link provided: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/security-copilot/. Intune is included in Security Copilot and the prompt responses are based on the data sources available for your organization.- Thank you Lavanya. Personally I think that Intune Suite's Advanced analytics should include AI additions to Intune-only functions like what you showed in the demos: create new policy, find duplicate policies, troubleshoot devices etc. If you'd like to connect data from multiple sources, then Security Copilot license makes more sense. Requiring customers to buy both Intune Suite & Security Copilot would be too expensive for most customers to get AI benefits for just Intune operations.
- NoNotMeIron ContributorIt is unfortunate that licensing requirements, and respective costs, have reached a critical point for many customers.
- AntonDobschenskyBrass ContributorYeah, any kind of even guestimate on licensing would be really nice to have sooner rather than later. I'd love to plan to use this, but without knowing costs I can't budget for it.

Thanks for joining us! We hope you enjoyed this session. If you missed the live broadcast, don’t worry – you can watch it on demand. And we’ll continue to answer questions here in the chat through the end of the week. There's more great content in store at the Microsoft Technical Takeoff! What do you like about the event so far? Share your feedback and help shape the direction of future events on the Tech Community!
- RobdeRoosIron ContributorIt would be realy great for MSP's if we could use CoPilot to compare the baseline implementation to customers that are allready onboarded or customers that need to be onboarded. What settings are allready in place versus the baseline of the MSP.

Thanks for the feedback. To clarify, when you mention comparing "the baseline implementation" to customers' configurations, which baselines are you referring to? Are you looking to compare Microsoft security baselines available in Intune with customers' current configuration?- RobdeRoosIron ContributorNo I'm talking about the MSP's view on what policies should be in place. Lets call it the MSP Baseline that every customer of that MSP should have in place. A bit like M365 Lighthouse baselining. However reporting on this now requires M365 DSC for instance.
- Derrick_ConnorsCopper ContributorWhen speaking about Policy Management with Intune, I understand Microsoft is already implementing STIGs, but can you advise if there is a streamlined process for integrating https://www.cisecurity.org/cis-benchmarks?
- Mike-Danoski
Microsoft
We are working with our friends in Windows to add support for some of the settings previously only available via GPO. Once we have these added, we are exploring ways to make this a streamlined experience for admins. I don't have additional details to share now. We also recommend using a TVM solution in conjunction with a baseline for enforcement. Also see part of Julia's comment from the security session: "[...]We are planning to support the STIG baseline in Intune eventually, but it’ll be alongside other 3rd party security baselines which are in the backlog, but no concrete timelines that I can share just yet. Right now, our main priority is getting all the existing baselines updated & released before we look at supporting 3rd party baselines." - RobdeRoosIron ContributorWould love out of the box reporting on what level of CiS is configured and what settings that CiS recommends are set and which aren't set, what the impact will be if set, and to export it to a report or create a dashboard.

Welcome to Generative AI and the next generation of Intune features and day 3 of Microsoft Technical Takeoff for Windows + Intune! Have a question? Post here in the Comments so we can help. Let’s make this an active Q&A!
- NoNotMeIron ContributorIt would be amazing if Copilot with Intune would be priced so SMB could afford using the tools.
