March 14 (3.14) is celebrated worldwide as “Pi Day” but here at Microsoft, we like to think about it also as “Py Day” or Python Data Science Day –a day for celebrating the Python ecosystem of developers and data scientists. Join us today and we look back at the event and highlight key talks and resources that can jumpstart your data science journey and upskill your data science IQ by taking you from data analysis fundamentals to operationalizing your data science projects with Microsoft Fabric and Azure AI.
Where it Started
- Jan 2024 – Lee Stott – Educator Blog Announcement
- Mar 2024 – Dawn Wages – Dev Blogs Schedule
- Mar 2024 – Python Data Science Day Playlist – VS Code YouTube
We invited everyone to contribute to the success of Data Science Day by accepting session proposals from the community. We chose sessions to create the ideal day for Python developers, entrepreneurs, data scientists, students, and researchers who are working on projects of various sizes and scopes, from hobbyist to enterprise level.
How it Played Out
Data Science Day featured an amazing array of sessions, where data scientists from across the world gathered to exchange and discover tips, tricks, and tools that they found useful in the data science ecosystem, in 23 sessions. These sessions covered three themes; The latest in Data Science with Python, Data Science Tools, and Scaling Data Science to the cloud.
