As we continue listening to students and educators, we have heard many requests for OneNote integration with H5P, the tool that allows people to create, share and reuse interactive content.  The OneNote binder metaphor, and the ability to easily embed H5P interactive pages in OneNote, organize them, or distribute to others in OneNote Class Notebook, seemed like a great match.  Today we are excited to announce the integration between H5P and OneNote.

Educators around the world use H5P to create interactive learning resources and digital materials for their classroom. There are hundreds of H5P templates available to pick from and teachers and students can create interactive presentations, infographics and escape rooms easily and no programming or design skills required.  H5P aims to change the way we communicate, from static, boring content, to interactive, engaging presentations and materials. Visual, interactive content is normally hard and expensive to develop. But with H5P creating interactive content becomes, fun, simple and affordable for everyone.

As of today, you can now paste any H5P.com URL on to a OneNote page and it will render it as a live interactive embed. You can now create pages, section, and even entire notebooks chock-full of H5P!  A great way to make learning more fun and easy, together.

To see some examples or how easy this is to do, see the example video of an H5P in OneNote.  This integration works in OneNote Windows 10, Online, Mac, iPad, Android, and 2016

We hope you enjoy this new integration to bring together two great apps that students and educators love!

@Mike Tholfsen, noticed you wrote "you can now paste any H5P.com URL" but I think you mean h5p.org
EDIT: sorry, having looked into it, those two domains are linked

Silly question maybe but, would it be possible to host/import H5P content directly in SharePoint?  H5P content seems to have some similarities with the now deprecated Office Mix content.

@rs_oakford In fact, I have discovered that ONLY content from H5P.com can be embedded into OneNote. You can create content on H5P enabled sites, that is your own WordPress or Drupal site with the H5P plugin enabled. However, that content cannot be embedded into OneNote. It will cost you a fee to have your content hosted on H5P.com. The author based license (1 to 3 authors) costs $570 per year. That is not a trivial amount. There are also Enterprise licenses available for Educational Institutions. See H5P.com price information

That negates the integration for me currently with OneNote. No ways I'm going to spend that amount of money for something I'm still experimenting with. It dampens my initial enthusiasm on the announcement.

See my post here on another way for integrating H5P content with Ms Teams via embedding on SharePoint pages.

Thanks for your response and post, @Marius Pretorius

Looks like https://h5p.org/comment/39233#comment-39233 seems to say there is a way for "self hosters" to integrate directly to OneNote

Too bad that H5P content from other websites cannot be integrated.

What about embedding iframes in OneNote? There is so much H5P content out there teachers (and students) would like to work with form within OneNote, i.e. Startseite | ZUM-Apps

Embedding seems to work in OneNote for Windows 10, but it does not seem to work in OneNote (2016). As soon as you click the arrow button on the embedded h5p content, there is just a frame outline and no h5p content. What's going on with this?

Dear Community,

I cannot embed interactive h5p contenct from the h5p.org page. Neither from OneNote (Microsoft® OneNote® für Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2210 Build 16.0.15726.20188) 64 Bit ) nor the Win10 App

The link to the "Applet" is showing and works (=opens a webpage of h5p.org) but not like shown above as a interactive element inside Onenote

How can thi be solved what is the problem?

Thanks for your help
