Windows 10 Taskbar Bug
I currently have Windows 10 22H2, and I noticed a possible bug when I tried to fix the problem of my battery icon not appearing on the taskbar. When I opened the taskbar settings, I noticed that the volume and power have the same speaker display icon. Toggling the volume icon works, and you can see it appear and disappear from the taskbar, but the same does not apply to the power icon. So as a result, I am unable to see how charged my battery is.

I believe that this many not be related to Microsoft edge. But you can try to mess with taskbar settings or try to update to windows 11.
