Will OpenType-SVG fonts be supported in Chromium Edge?

Color OpenType-SVG fonts are currently supported in existing Edge, along with Firefox and Safari.

But they are not supported in Chrome - will switching to Chromium mean this functionality will be removed - or are there plans to add it to Chromium by the Edge team?

As a web developer, I hope that EDGE will still support OpenType-SVG after replacing its engine. so that I can provide a unified emoticon font file and consistent rendering for all users of the site.

This is like using an AVC/AAC encoded MP4 file in the tag. I hate media source choices because it means I need to maintain a different set of font files.
