Unwanted tabs

I've used Edge on a Windows 10 PC for a long time without any problem.  I've now bought a new Windows 11 machine which has Edge version Version 120.0.2210.61 (Official build) (64-bit).  Every time the PC is woken from sleep an extra tab has been opened to microsoft.com webpage promoting a Microsoft offering.  I close the tab but if the computer enters sleep again and is woken again the tab has re-appeared.  Is this an Edge 'feature'?  If I can't stop it doing this I shall switch to Chrome which I believe it's what Edge is based on.
