Note: This is no longer the most recent top feedback summary. You can always find the latest at https://aka.ms/MSEdgeTopFeedback.
Why, hello there, Insiders! This week, we’re going to close out a couple of items now that they are fully into our Dev channel. Let’s get into those details!
First up, we introduced a password generator into our Dev channel with last week’s update, so we are marking Enable automatic generation of strong passwords as Addressed. When you go to a website that wants you to create a new account in either our Canary or Dev channels, you will now see the option to create a strong password via the browser.
Additionally, in line with our PDF Roadmap, we’ve implemented the ability to navigate PDFs via a table of contents. To use this feature, click on the Table of Contents icon on the top left side of the PDF toolbar to open a pane containing a list of the different sections within your document, then click on any item in the list to quickly navigate to that section in the document. With that, we’re also marking Enable navigation of PDF files via table of contents as Addressed this week.
We still want to know your thoughts! Is there something you see with these new features that you feel can be improved? Let us know by submitting feedback directly through the browser via the … menu > Help and feedback > Send feedback (or, if you’re on mobile, by tapping the … button and scrolling to Send feedback).
Here’s this week’s updated list:

Been using vertical tabs for weeks now. On my laptop with 125% scale and layout setting I am not sure I will stop hovering over to tab strip and accidently expanding it. I want the ability to have it on the right side. There is no other way around this. I will never get used to vertical tabs on the left side of the screen. I feel like I am being forced to write with my left hand.

@Omar-Os For me it offers to import Firefox data
I was using other browsers and I know that Firefox is kinda messy with profiles as some browsers ask me which profile I want to import even tho I use only one, it offers 3! Maybe try to refresh your profile as Firefox recommends this step for various issues people encounter. Try to go about:support in Firefox and click here:
Or if you sync your Firefox data using Firefox sync, you can close Firefox and manually delete folders AppData/Local/Firefox and AppData/Roaming/Firefox.

@MissyQ Detailed roadmap is awesome!
Is there any way to part in vertical tabs? As I see a lot of people using this feature and sharing their quite enjoyable experience for weeks...

Can we get smoother pen inking in pdf viewer in edge and get the ability to undo and redo pen inking in pdf's within edge.@MissyQ

@altean
Thanks for the reply, but this is Edge's problem not Firefox and they admitted it.
And certainly I won't refresh Firefox in over 30 machines and loose all of their data so it actually won't work in the end again because I tried it before.
It's just easier to stick with Firefox until they can fix Edge or until they learn how to fix it or until they care enough to fix it 🤷🏻
Firefox is still the most superior browser so far so I'm not in a hurry.

Hi, looks to be another good update. I'm hoping for a further roll out of the Web Capture tool, is there any plans on that happening?

@HotCakeX
Yeah the problem is from my "30 ends" with all different windows versions and editions and different Firefox versions and editions and different Edge versions and editions over the past 1.5 years of testing.. very funny. Not to mention that I'm an IT Engineer.
I've posted a lot of details and proofs that it doesn't work here and by email but they just don't care.

Well it's working for me and has been since the last year. it's a proof that it does work. like I said in my comment, to prove it doesn't work, try that.
p.s I didn't ask you about your job.

@HotCakeX
Well, it's NOT working with me in the past 1.5 years in dozens of machines and dozens of setups and browsers editions and versions, which is a proof that it doesn't work in most cases, and by most cases I mean +90% of cases, and I'm not the only one who complains about this.
I simply won't use Edge on my main PC and laptop if importing Firefox didn't work.. I have several extensions and around 1000 bookmarks and hundreds of login info and years of browsing history (God knows how much they)
It's not like I can just simply use Edge from scratch! I need every single thing from what I just mentioned.
Sep 17 2020 02:01 AM - edited Sep 17 2020 03:14 AM
So what you're saying is that you know it will work on a brand new machine, it only doesn't work on Your machine with data on it because it's somehow old, might even be corrupted or has some issues that you're not aware of.
well sometimes things do get corrupted. if your Firefox has sync on, all of data can be returned once you install it on a new Windows or machine.
my Windows 10 installation is about 6 months old and the import between Firefox and Edge works.
of course I don't have "years" of history because that alone is a security risk, plus that slows down the system and Firefox itself.
Sep 17 2020 03:58 AM
@HotCakeX
-It doesn't work on new machines or old machines, fresh Windows and browsers installed or not.
-No, my data isn't corrupted.
-I have Sync On but I don't want to risk it because login info and history never becomes the same after restoring them, also sometime it might sync that I refreshed my Firefox so it will save that I removed anything... So NO thank you so much, it's Edge's/Chromium's problem anyway.

@HotCakeX
And how do you explain that it doesn't work for dozens of machines for me and for other people???
They already confirmed that it's Edge's problem, just not sure if they are going to fix it this year or 10 years later...
