Resizable Favorites panel and/or multiple columns

Hi, I cram a lot of links into my fav toolbar, naming each link with a single letter only, that way I can fit more and naturally they spill to the side. If I choose to pin/unpin the Favorites Bar on the side I can't resize the side Favorites Bar panel. If it can't be made to resize, is there any way to stack multiple columns side by side instead of vertical scrolling? I'd find it more efficient. Right now it takes roughly 20% of my screen when opened and pinned when in full screen mode.

fav barand I would be fine with 2% only or multiple columns. Seeing the first letter only and the website icon is plenty of information for me.
