Regarding the Magnifying Glasses on the Image of the Day

I do not have much to say here outside of the title, but I would like the option to remove the magnifying glasses with comments like "More of an ecotourist than a big resort fan?" and others on the Image of the Day on the New Tab page. I like the pictures I am getting, but I don't want unnecessary clutter on top of it. Is this currently doable or something that can be instituted in the future?
