the flag has been there for a long time but only since Edge Version 82.0.451.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) it started showing results. though when I scan it with my QR reader on phone I can't get any links.

I think the dino image needs to be changed by something more Microsoft related

I'm seeing the QR code generated but it doesn't read.
Yeah, I'm not sure how they work, whether they need a server to store these QR codes we generate so that when the phone app tries to read it it will get the link from the server.
and what is the use of the "download" button

(Canary Version 84.0.488.0) When I right-click to generate the QR code all I see is this. Pasting the URL into the text box does nothing, nor does just typing text typing. Clicking on the ' Download ' button also does nothing. No QR code generated, just the blank grey square where it should be.

Same here...I think MSFT is waiting for Google to develop this further...
I guess so, that would make sense. Have a great Sunday, and stay safe.
I think the feature is already working in Chrome in Canary Channel:

Well hopefully in the next Edge canary it will start to work too
Let's hope so, it would be nice.
