linux: Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)

Copper Contributor

My system is Fedora 34. After I install Edge Beta and executing `microsoft-edge`, I got the following error:

Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)

There's no other information printed to screen.

@njzjz  I've run across a few discussions of this issue involving Debian/Ubuntu and other Chromium-based browsers. In several of the discussions, the issue seems to be related to conflicts between root and user permissions. I've not seen discussions involving Edge or involving Fedora.

I'd suggest removing and reinstalling Edge, on the assumption that something might have gone amiss with the installation.  If remove/reinstall don't solve it, you might want to contact Microsoft Edge Insider Support and work with them. I've had good luck with them in the past on tricky issues involving Windows. I've not contacted them about issues relating to Linux, because I've had no problems to report, so I'm not sure how strong the support desk is for Linux issues.
