Internal Edge Snipping tool overriding keyboard shortcuts

Iron Contributor

Hi,

lately CTRL+SHIFT+X was assigned to some Edge internal snipping functionality. Now it reserves both CTRL+SHIFT+X and CTRL+SHIFT+S for snipping.

This is overkill as you already have Snipping too in Windows. It also prevents Add-Ons from using these shortcuts. E.g., 1Password used CTRL+SHIFT+X, but it no longer works obviously and there doesn't seem to be any way to disable the unnecessary capture tool in Edge and release that CTRL+SHIFT+X for other purposes.

Or is there?

Yes, this is super annoying. Have you found anyway to disable it?
What's mind-boggling is that Microsoft Teams (another of Microsoft's own products) in the browser uses the same Ctrl-Shift-X shortcut to expand the message composition box with formatting tools. So whenever I want to expand the message composition box with keyboard shortcut, the snipping tool gets triggered.

@Jussi Palo You can modify the Shortcut for opening 1password here
