Internet Explorer Compatibility mode is only available in Windows where components of the Internet Explorer are available. MacOS doesn't support functionalities like ActiveX or other components of the Internet Explorer, therefore this feature is not available in the MacOS, because Internet Explorer is not available for the MacOS.
There is a plugin called IE Tab, available in the Edge Add-ons store, which is designed to embed the Trident engine in the Mac version of Edge to achieve Internet Explorer compatibility. It supports simulating multiple versions of Internet Explorer. Although its performance is not as high as the native Internet Explorer mode on Windows, it is sufficient for normal use.
At least the IE Tab plugin supports compatibility with IE-only websites on the Mac version of Edge.
