MicrosoftDev channel update to 88.0.673.0 is live
josh_bodner Please please please tell me there's some kind of fix in the works for the annoying bug with copying and pasting URLs?? If I copy a URL from Edge, and paste it into any app other than a text editor, it only pastes the title of the page - not the actual URL. To show the URL, I have to paste it into a text editor first, copy it again, THEN paste it into my destination app. It's infuriating!!!
- Go to edge://settings/shareCopyPaste and change the setting to plain text.
dieselcreek2222 Edge appears to be giving you a hyperlink when you paste a URL in anything other than a text editor. Perhaps convenient in some scenarios but not always. Looks like one of many "features" that have been added because doing so is easier than fixing bugs/issues.

it's totally user-configurable.
when you have a link in the clipboard and you want to paste it, you can right-click and choose to either paste it as a link (if the destination supports it) or paste it as plain text
if you want to change the default behavior, when you just paste something or when you press CTRL + V
you need to go to here and change it to plain text:
edge://settings/shareCopyPaste
