Dev Channel update to 114.0.1807.1 is live

Hello Insiders! Today, we are announcing the release of build 114.0.1807.1 to the Dev channel. Mobile devices will get the Dev update at a later date. This update contains a variety of fixes and new features. For more details on the changes, please take a moment to read through the highlights below.  Additionally, we would like to draw your attention to our latest update post about Workspaces consumer preview availability.

Increased availability in Edge Workspaces consumer preview

Added features:  

• Added CTRL + SHIFT + / shortcut for Sidebar auto-hide/always show.
• WebView2:
  • Added experimental Profile Autofill/Password Autosave

Improved reliability:  

• Android:
  • Fixed browser crash related to autofill.
• Enterprise:
  • Fixed browser crash when resigning in with an AAD account on Android.

Changed behavior: 

• Fixed Auto-hide sidebar button not working.
• Fixed Sidebar pane not rendering properly.
• Fixed pinned Collection, History, and Favorites pane not displaying correctly when Sidebar is set to auto-hide mode.
• iOS:
  • Fixed dark mode not working in some sites.
• Android:
  • Fixed dark mode caused some web pages to be blank.
• WebView2:
  • Fixed CustomItemSelected event not firing for custom items (#3300)
  • Fixed PostSharedBufferToScript stops after about 32000x1MB buffers are posted (#3360)
• Enterprise:
  • Fixed the blank Profile preferences settings page on macOS.

HEVC and AV1 are not working... what is happening?

Overall appearance (dark/light) is not applied to contents on launch. Re-selecting it can enable dark/light mode but within a session.
This occurs on LinuxMint 21.1 and Kubuntu 23.04.

@edge261 We would like to get additional diagnostic data from the browser about this.  Please follow the steps below.

1. In the address bar, type edge://media-internals and press enter.

2. Click on the three dots menu button.

3. Go to Help and feedback.

4. Click on Send feedback.

5. In the Describe what's happening, type HEVC and AV1 are not working

6. Include your email address and make sure Allow (recommended) is selected for Send diagnostic data to Microsoft.

7. Click on Record my problem button.

8. Put a checkmark on I agree to send diagnostic data message and click on Start recording.  

9. Record the issue and then click on Stop recording.

10. Click on Save and include.

11. Go back to the edge://media-internals tab and click on Copy all to clipboard.

12. Press CTRL+C to copy.

13. Open Notepad and paste (CTRL+V) the data.

14. Save the file as media-internals.txt.

15. On the Send Feedback dialog, click on Attachments.

16. Click on Choose file to upload.

17. Attach the media-internals.txt file.

18. Click on Save and include.

19. Click on Send.

Let me reiterate, the right click menu for links doesn't show copy link text which is quite frustrating when you only want copy text. The vertical tabs empty space after new tab button cannot be drag and drop which is a major loss of productivity.

You guys with the Edge team messed up collections. Big time.

Removed functionality yet on the same stroke, cluttered collections. Gratituously. Out of the blue. No advance warning.  It looks like a circus now. Literally. Don't trust my word, trust the attached screenshot for some enlightment.

I tried the Control+Shift+/ shortcut but it doesn't work. I've tried with the sidebar activated and not but the command unfortunately does nothing.
Is there a way I can solve this problem? Does anyone else have this issue?

Re "Added CTRL + SHIFT + / shortcut for Sidebar auto-hide/always show."
A strange addition. The operation is not common enough to warrant a shortcut. More importantly, it uses a symbol that gets moved around on the keyboard layout according to the language setting. On the Finnish and Swedish keyboard, "/" is typed as Shift-7, and Ctrl-Shift-7 just selects all text.

Thanks for the info, I have an Italian layout and the shortcut doesn't work. I'll try other keys instead of "/"

I've tested it when using Czech keyboard - shortcut is Ctrl+Shift+ˇ (caron sign).

Reported via Feedback but wanted to note here - there appears to be a bug with this version where closing an InPrivate window causes all instances of Edge to crash. Running on macOS here.

For Italian users.
With my keyboard you need first to press Windows+Spacebar to set the English keyboard and then press Control+Shift+-
If you do it with the Italian keyboard layout you just zoom less the page.

With the release of this build version, the single item that was 'fixed' that makes me want to use tis browser more now is this:

I had previously sent in feedback about this and this does in fact prove to me that the developers of the browser do in fact listen to the feedback that gets submitted by the users.

Just installed Version 114.0.1807.6, and closing InPrivate windows still crashes Edge completely.
