Allow removal of "Connected to Windows" accounts from Edge profiles
- Jul 24, 2020
Thanks for the feedback, we've heard this from other users too. Re: the connected to windows accounts, we are working to remove this but since it is cross group collaboration, it may take a while. We eventually would like to just sign you in with the profile account.
Re: Adding an account only to the app, if you select the "This app only" option in the sign in flow where you are asked to manage the device, the account won't be added to the computer and nor will your device get managed.
Thanks for the reply. As I said in my previous message, I run into this auto sign-in problem for all three web browsers (chrome, Edge, and Firefox). I have tried changing settings, profiles, and regedit. I can affected the behavior a little, but not much.
If you complain about auto sign in, you are wrong I this thread. We're talking about a completely different thing here, that's not even an issue with Firefox.

ComputerGuy77 My apologies. I was not aware Firefox added this feature as well, which contributed to the general misunderstanding.

I am complaining about trying to use multiple Microsoft accounts for work purposes, but the browser is too aggressive with SSO identity it gets from Windows. It should ask if you want to use the SSO identity instead of auto-logon. Sometimes it seems you can provide another account. Other times it assumes and uses the SSO identity without any prompts and stuff doesn't work right when it's the wrong account.
On my Windows 10 computer all three browsers are impacted by this problem to different degrees. Screenshots below. I like Firefox the best because it has a checkbox, but unchecking it doesn't seem to always disable the SSO properly.
