Advert deselect option does nothing ?

The other day I was searching online for a web address for a local  charity that accepts furniture to get information on how to arrange a donation collection .Since then whenever I go on the MSN news post I am continuously  bombarded with adverts from a furniture company called Oak furniture land .Getting really fed up of seeing literally dozens of advert post I decided to  try removing the offending advert by     opening  the advert option box and ticking the not interested option box  .This I have done now for the past 3 days on every Oak furniture land advert but I has stopped nothing If anything the amount of  adverts is  getting  higher . Why have an opt out choice for a particular advert if it does nothing ????
