What is "intranet" for you these days?

Hi friends,

What comes to mind when we talk about "intranet"? Traditionally it would be a website with static information, such as policies and procedures, etc.

I see intranet as a wider concept where "intranet" is the ecosystem of e.g. Teams, Engage and SharePoint together.

Check out my blogs about what to think about and how to plan for a "new" intranet and where to communicate and collaborate:

100% - a place where people go to do their work, to find out about work, to access tools/things they need, to collaborate, to learn, as an online hub for the organisation
  • I do agree with the content of the post Merethe. The intranet portal is an employee entry point and can be used as an aggregator for several information and content.

I like your "wider concept", and would probably go even further. To me an intranet needs to bring the work of a company to life, using news and other tools to hand. I'd also like to see closer integration with learning management systems (no, I don't think Viva Learning is there), reduced duplication with ticketing systems and other knowledge bases, plus better integration of search and other systems.
