Azure and Support for Direct Access. Alternatives?
Hi Team,
In the following article, it says that Direct Access is not Supported in Azure Microsoft server software support for Microsoft Azure virtual machines
(Last Review: 26 May 2017)
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2721672/microsoft-server-software-support-for-microsoft-azure-virtual-machines
What alternative solutions are available if this is not supported by Microsoft?
Any ideas please?

Hi Kent,
Thanks for your update.
- I have checked the following info about Configure a Point-to-Site connection to a VNet using the Azure portal :
Configure a Point-to-Site connection to a VNet using the Azure portal (classic)
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/vpn-gateway/vpn-gateway-howto-point-to-site-classic-azure-portal
- We are considering VPN Gateway as an option and I am wondering if this can be a good alternative or a replacement for Direct Access in Azure ?
- Plus VPN Gateway is not free.
- Microsoft has reversed their decision on the support of DirectAccess in Azure (removing it from the unsupported roles list in July 2016).
- Will Microsoft re-introduce supportabilty of Direct Access in Azure?

Hi Aziz
I cant answer you follow up questions, but just cause Direct access is not supported does not mean it cant be done. But i dont believe Direct access will be directly supported by Azure.
