How to bring up multiple Windows 10 desktops ?

I have managed to create a tenant, a host pool with Windows 10 Multi Session VM, installed custom application, created an app group, published application, added users etc

The applications show up on the Remote Desktop Client (and Web) it has integrated nicely with local desktop and the application launches successfully.

I have managed to load up the VM with 4 users and it really starts to slow down.

I would like to spin up another VM identical to the current, there appears to be no way to clone the VM

I have found the documentation about using another VM with a scaling script which just looks painful.

I realize I will have to eventually setup the scaling script when we go live but in the short term is there an easier way to bring up another instance of the VM ?

The requirement to have a dedicated machine just to handle the scaling is very disappointing, I do hope there will be a better solution when WVD goes GA

Cheers

Ian

    IanR01   Hi IanR01 ,

i configured WVD from market place all works fine now for the section of :

install custom application, created an app group, published application, added users

Can you explain how to achieve that or if you have a link ?

    Thanks

Hi Fadi, I did it the hard way, there is now a guide available which guides you through the whole process
      https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/tenant-setup-azure-active-directory

      Cheers

IanR01  Hi , just follow this Guide :

        https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Windows-IT-Pro-Blog/Getting-started-with-Windows-Virtual-Desktop/ba-p/391054

but when you arrive at the section server APP and client App put the tenant name on both

if you want to use ADDS make sure that the Hash sync password is enable and synced between AD azure to ADDS you can achieve that with Power Shell , Second options is to reset the password for your account cloud admin from this link : https://myapps.microsoft.com/ it will force the Hash password to sync to ADDS then you will be able to joined the VM's to domain ADDS of your tenant , make sure the account admin is  member of the ADDS administrator group , and the WVD are on the same  vnet  of the ADDS / DNS   all explained in thsi guide .

Please let me know which step it's not working for you  ;)

        good luck ;)
