I purchased Windows 11 Pro but still cannot use Remote Access from my new Macbook Pro to my HP comp.
Hi,
I just purchased Windows 11 Pro but still cannot use Remote Access from my new Macbook Pro to my HP Computer. I type in the same credentials (i.e. username and password) that I need to login to my HP Desktop but it still gives me an error that the computer is not found when I try to use Remote Access from my Macbook. What's going on?
Also, I call constantly the Help line and I got through only once. The call dropped immediately with a weird recording saying that it was past work hours but there was someone speaking to me who got caught off. Also then I call back and it goes on for hours without any answer. I think there's some sort of AI security protocol being triggerd. I'm not doing anything illegal I'm trying just to do my own economics research (I am a economics professor) using publicly available large data sets on my HP Desktop that I cannot run statistical programs on as quickly on my laptop.
What can I do to fix this?
Best,
Eric

I do see how to disable NLA. I am not totally sure yet if I have fully setup Remote Desktop on the Windows host PC. I'm going to go try to "add PC" on my Macbook Windows App now and see if this time it might work with NLA disabled.

Hi John!
I think I have done both of those steps. Does upgrading to Windows 11 Pro and clicking the toggle button in the Remote Desktop Settings to "on" constitute setting up the Windows host PC for Remote Desktop? Are there other steps I should take?
What is NLA and how does one disable it?
Best,
Eric
