Android Remote Desktop stuck on Configuring Remote PC

The newer version of the app gets stuck on  stuck on "configuring remote pc" after first connection. It appears to be a problem with the app. If you a connection has a screen that says "Identity of remote PC can't be verified."and you check the box "Never ask again for connections to this PC" and then connect, you will never be able to connect again (it prevents asking and answering the question when it should automatically answer "Connect." The only solution found on my Android was to delete all the App data (App Info, Storage, Clear Data). So you lose all your connection data (PC's, Gateways, and User Accounts) and you're starting all over.

These issues never happened with the Remote Desktop 8 version of the app. Having recently switched phones a way to export and save connections would also be useful.

This is affecting our ability to work and we need it fixed ASAP.

Same PB, with the new version for a while and no solution from Microsoft despite a case opened at their technical support

All these are generic suggestions. The issue is with Remote Desktop v10 android app. And apparently this issue has been there for quite a while.

I think I explained the issue quite clearly: If you get the prompt "Identity of remote PC can't be verified."and you check the box "Never ask again for connections to this PC" and then connect, you will never be able to connect again because the app doesn't show you the prompt and doesn't automatically connect.

In any case if anyone has the same issue I managed to find the APK for Remote Desktop v8.1.81.435 and that works perfectly.

It sounds like you're experiencing a common issue that occurs with remote desktop applications where the app gets stuck during setup or when verifying the identity of the remote PC. Here's how you can troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue: Update the App: Ensure that both the mobile app and the desktop version are updated to the latest versions. Sometimes, compatibility issues or bugs are fixed in newer updates. Check Network Settings: Ensure that your network settings allow remote connections. This might involve adjusting firewall settings or checking if the correct ports are open. Generally, remote desktop applications require certain ports to be open to function correctly. Verify Security Certificates: The warning "Identity of remote PC can't be verified" suggests an issue with the security certificates. If you're using a self-signed certificate or a certificate not issued by a recognized Certificate Authority, the app might fail to verify it automatically. Trust the Certificate: If you trust the source of the certificate and the remote PC, you can try to manually accept or trust the certificate in the app settings. Update or Replace the Certificate: If possible, replace the self-signed or untrusted certificate with one from a trusted Certificate Authority. Clear App Cache: Sometimes, clearing the app's cache can resolve issues that occur due to corrupted or outdated data stored in the app. For mobile apps, you can usually clear the cache from the app settings within your device's settings menu. For desktop applications, you may need to search through the application's settings or support documents for instructions on clearing the cache. Reinstall the App: If updates and clearing the cache do not resolve the issue, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the app. This can help eliminate any issues caused by improper installation or corrupted application files. Check App Permissions: Make sure the app has all the necessary permissions enabled on your device. This can include permissions for network access, running in the background, etc. Consult Support or Forums: If you're still having issues, consult the support team for the app or check online forums. Other users may have experienced similar issues and could have solutions that apply to your situation. These steps should help address the problem of the app getting stuck on "configuring remote PC" and the security warning about the identity of the remote PC. If you continue to experience issues, providing more details about the specific remote desktop application and the operating systems involved may help with more targeted advice.
