Desktop slideshow doesn't work with multiple virtual desktops
To reproduce the bug: If you don't have multiple virtual desktops press Win Key + Tab and click the "New Desktop icon. Press Control key + Win Key + left arrow to go to Desktop 1. Right click on the desktop and select "Personalize" Click the "Background" panel. Select the "Slideshow" option from the drop-down box. On the "Choose a picture album for a slideshow" panel choose a folder with some pictures for the slideshow. On the "Change picture every" panel choose 1 minute from the drop-down box. On the "Shuffle the picture order" panel turn the switch to "off". On the "Choose a fit for your desktop image" choose "Fill" from the drop-down box. Dismiss the "Personalization > Background" by clicking the X at the top right of the window. Press Control key + Win Key + right arrow to go to Desktop 2. Press Control key + Win Key + left arrow to go to Desktop 1. Right click on the desktop and select "Personalize" Click the "Background" panel. You will notice that the drop-down box is showing "Picture" Windows 11 will not let you keep a slideshow if you want to move from one virtual desktop to another.Solved4.6KViews7likes15CommentsEdge pdf text addition = massive file size increase
As of today, when I add just a small amount of text (20-30 characters) to a pdf and save, the file size increases from 66KB to 55,000KB ... never happened before. I've reported to Microsoft but they have no solutions. Any ideas to get around? Saving as a separate file has same result. Thanks1KViews15likes14CommentsEdge forcing switch profiles when using any .local domain or IP address
I've noticed this today after upgrading to Windows 11 23H2, personal profile that can access local network devices like CCTV systems, monitoring, etc... Always get switched to work profile. Any other regular website does not suffer from such a thing. Is this a "new feature" ? Also I cannot add .local websites or IP addresses to the choose preffered profile for sites.12KViews2likes26CommentsMarketplace offers for consulting services
We have several consulting service offerings live in the Microsoft Marketplace that are listed as "Software As a Service" offerings. It is recommended to list consulting services as a "Professional Service," but once an offer is live, you cannot change the offer type. So in order to classify these correctly, we'd have to recreate each service offering as a Pro Service offering and put it through the marketplace validation process again. I'm wondering what the benefit is to having marketplace service offerings listed as "Professional Service" vs. "Software As a Service?" We're trying to decide if it's worth the effort to recreate these offers as Pro Service offer types..7Views0likes0CommentsNew Tab Search UI (Ctrl + Shift + A) has changed - how to revert to previous behavior?
Since the latest Microsoft Edge update, the Tab Search panel opened with Ctrl + Shift + A has changed. It now opens on the side instead of in the center, and arrow key navigation no longer works. Only Tab navigation works now. This makes it much harder to use quickly. Is there any way to restore the previous centered Tab Search UI, or re-enable up and down arrow navigation, or undo this specific UI change? The old version worked perfectly for my workflow. The new version slows everything down. Thanks, Michael88Views4likes2CommentsNew Tab search UI (Ctrl + Shift + A) has changed - how to revert to previous behavior ?

I'm having difficulty finding open tabs from other devices on my Edge installed on an Android Tablet. On my smartphone, to see the synchronized tabs, I need to click on the tab viewer, click on 'recent' and both the tabs that I recently closed and the tabs opened from other devices will appear. However, on my Tablet it's different. There is no button for the tab viewer and I had to dig around on Reddit and discover that there is a hidden feature for this: Swiping down the area where the back and forward buttons are, in the top left. However, when I click on 'recent', only the open tabs appear. Neither recently closed tabs nor tabs from other devices appear. Is this some bug or am I doing it wrong?4.8KViews7likes12CommentsMicrosoft Edge/MSN Ads on videos has forced me to stop using it
I cannot believe that Microsoft Edge's home page (MSN) now inserts commercial ads into most every video article it posts. As I try to watch the article, ads now pop up, frequently more than one. It forces me to either sit through watching the ads to read some mundane article or close the video and get off the browser. I am soooo sick of advertising trying to get me to spend money on some stupid product. I have now found myself closing the browser and not using Edge/MSN most of the time now. What a waste. At least Firefox and Google have not started doing this (yet). Has anyone else found this to be true?712Views3likes7CommentsPlease, bring back the "Microsoft Edge rounded corners" option
Hello As of today, the "Microsoft Edge rounded corners" flag in edge://flags/ no longer works (the option is disabled to revert to the old appearance). Since Microsoft no longer gives users a choice in appearance, they're trying to force us to switch browsers... ?? No more option to hide the Extensions button in the toolbar, a display bug for over a month regarding the color of the buttons in the title bar (black instead of white like in Windows), etc... Please MS, bring back this option And is there an "flag" (to add to the shortcut, for example) to restore the old appearance ? When installing MicrosoftEdgeBetaEnterpriseX64.msi (current Version 77.0.235.20) I get following MSI Error 1722: Product: Microsoft Edge Beta -- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. After some investigation I found out, that the configured EdgeUpdate Policy results in this Error. Update-Policy as follows: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate] "UpdateDefault"=dword:00000000 "InstallDefault"=dword:00000000 "AutoUpdateCheckPeriodMinutes"=dword:00000000 To solve the MSI Installation Problem I had to delete the EdgeUpdate Policy prior to start the MSI-Installation: reg DELETE HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate /f This seems to be a bug which should be fixed. The UpdatePolicy configures the Automatic Online-Update behavior - but should not result in MSI-Errors when deploying the Package by on-premise software-distribution Solutions.30KViews4likes7CommentsWhatever you do, don't update. v144.0.3712.0 and 144.0.3713.0 can't stay running
Having issue with three Server 2016 machines and a Windows 11 Canary machine. Avoid allowing it to update if you can. Last few weeks have been pretty unstable anyway with "no background" new tab option not retaining between launches, url launches from other apps not always actually going(new tab is created, url is present, but have to physically click on address bar and press enter, or on an already existing tab, having to reenter the url more than once to get it to navigate). But 3712/3713 is a literal "can't stay launched"111Views2likes1CommentM365 account automatically drops from Edge sync on iPhone (works on iPad)
I'm experiencing a critical sync issue with Microsoft Edge on iOS where my primary M365 account will not remain signed in for sync. The Problem: When I attempt to sync settings, my most important M365 account does not appear in the list of available accounts I can manually "add another account" and successfully authenticate The account briefly appears in the sync settings Within a few minutes, it silently disappears and Edge reverts to a default profile No error messages are shown - it just vanishes What Makes This Unusual: The SAME account works perfectly in Edge on my iPad (same iOS version 18.0.1) The account works fine in other Microsoft apps on the iPhone (Outlook, OneDrive) I am the M365 administrator for this account - there are no restrictions, conditional access policies, or authentication blocks The account does NOT appear in Azure AD sign-in logs when this happens, suggesting it's using iOS authentication broker Troubleshooting Already Attempted: Completely uninstalled and reinstalled Edge multiple times Cleared all browsing data, cookies, and cache Signed out of Apple ID and back in (to reset iOS keychain) Removed iPhone device registration from Azure AD and re-registered Re-authenticated through OneDrive using Passkey (temporarily worked, then reverted) Cleared Safari website data for all Microsoft domains Reset network settings Signed out of all Microsoft apps and signed back in Restarted iPhone multiple times Device Information: iPhone model: iPhone 15 Pro Max iOS version: 26.0.1 Edge version: 142.0.3595.53 iPad (where it WORKS): iOS 26.0.1, same Edge version Expected Behavior: The M365 account should remain signed in for sync, just as it does on my iPad. Actual Behavior: Account drops after a few minutes with no error message, reverting to default profile. This appears to be a device-specific authentication broker issue between Edge and iOS on this particular iPhone. Please investigate why Edge cannot maintain the authentication session on this device when the same account works on my iPad.157Views1like2CommentsCan we add "duplicate current tab" function in Edge mouse gesture?
It seems like the mouse gesture in Edge don't have "duplicate current tab" function. By the way, the current shortcut of "duplicate tab" is not convenient to use for me. Could tech group consider adding it in mouse gestures. Thanks a lot!417Views4likes2CommentsHow to change IE compatibility mode from IE7 to IE11 in Microsoft Edge?
