Edge 140.0.3485.81 "crash" Excel run in non-interactive mode
No idea what's going on there. Edge versions before 140.0.3485.81 without a problem with Excel non interactive mode, now with .81 it doesn't work anymore. i have a PowerShell Script that use the Excel COM-Object, it check Server Parameters and save this infos to a .xlsx file. Now with .81 Excel not save the file and the Sheduled Task remains in status is Running. The Script write also a TXT-File. In this i can see, that all servers check. Then i have restore the system (OS Windows Server 2025) with BackUp this monday, now with .66 the script work without a problem! I update .66 --> .81, try the script again and i have the problem again. :-) I try the same things in our Testdomain with a Windows Server 2016, Excel and myPowerShell Script. with .66 no problems with .81 Eexcel not save the file. As title said i'm forced to use only 142.0.3568 version, i've started to see issue with 142.0.3581and also todays release 142.0.3595.7 show same problem.... is there any solution? It appears the secret Microsoft Edge Surf Game has its own secret features. In the source code, there are images such as the jet ski, and I was wondering if it was possible to use it. You can see other players using it, but can we? Could we code it in (I would but JavaScript isn't my thing)? There is also a cat man, which some research told me that you can get by doing a sequence as soon as you open the game. I love the lateral tabs feature and the tab groups as well, I use it a lot at my work place. However, there are at least a couple of keyboard shortcuts that should be added in order to improve the user productivity: a shortcut to open a new tab in the group the current tab belong to: when I'm working with the tabs from a given group, is like I'm working with that group, and if I open a new tab, it's very likely I want to open it in that very group. a shortcut to pin/unpin lateral tabs It goes without saying that for users who need to maximize their productivity it makes a big difference to be able to carry out the most frequent tasks by means of keyboard shortcuts.Broken dark mode and inverted colors!
Hi there, I've been sending reports about this issue in "Feedback" of Microsoft Edge DAILY for a YEAR now ! Because of the following issues that they keep increasing with every new major update of Edge... And YES I send the diagnostic data with every feedback.. and NO it's not an issue of my Windows because this is happening on several machines with several Windows versions, and it only happens when I'm turning on "Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents" from edge://flags/ If I turn it off everything goes back to normal, but also the dark mode completely goes away! So this is related to the #enable-force-dark from the flags, don't send me steps of how to fix my Windows or how to reset Edge... The main issue is that "Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents" inverts the colors of A LOT of unrelated stuff in almost EVERY-SINGLE-WEBSTIE !!! Like logos, avatars, profile pics, emojis, some parts of the web design and even some text colors and more!! Which makes these stuff either VERY hard to see/understand OR it makes them completely invisible! 🤦🏻:male_sign: Below are some screenshots of "some" of the issues.. these aren't everything I found, these are just a few examples that I gathered to show you how bad is it.. 1- Many things in frontapp.com / app.frontapp.com like logos and emojis 2- Twitter's emojis and some of the profile pics in there 3- Lots of forums.. actually almost any forum anywhere! Enabling and forcing dark mode and all I see is WHITENESS ! and no words are visible!!! 4- Amazon... 5- DELL... 6- Disney+... 7- Frame.io video previews and almost all video previous from every website! (This started to happen since Edge v102, it was bad .. now it's worse) 8- YouTube white banners in top and bottom when you move the mouse the seek bar pops up.. (Full Screen) YouTube when you are not in full screen there is a white banner in the bottom.. YouTube seek preview if that pic/scene is dark (inverted colors) 9- LG Website (And everything like it including Amazon) 10- Nvidia.. 11- TechSpot 12- Even Your OWN SETTINGS PAGE !! I mean look at this pics carefully... does any color make any sense here?! And all these issues are nothing compared to the WHITE FLASH that blinds me for a few seconds when I start Edge!!!!! I'm using DARK MODE for everything in Edge, WHY THE HELL AM I GETTING A WHITE FLASH THAT ALMOST BLINDS ME THEN???!!!! I mean.. do you even test your stuff and changes ??? Do you test "Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents" with every major update you do ??? Because with every major update things gets worse NOT BETTER! Which means either you don't test or you don't care! 🤷🏻:male_sign: I just had a surgery for my eyes a couple of months ago and I use DARK MODE for everything I have because anything bright hurts MY EYES before and after the surgery... WE ARE NOT USING DARK MODE BECAUSE IT'S COOL, WE ARE USING IT FOR OUR EYES!! SO STOP IGNORING IT !!! These issues have been there AND INCREASING for more than a year now! And again, it's getting worse with every major update of Edge... and again, the screenshots above are just a few examples! The inverted colors are in every-single website!!! And please don't tell me to fix my Windows or Edge because as I said this is happening on every single machine with every single Windows I've tested.... And each machine/Edge has different apps and no extensions.. You guys turn on "Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents" and you will see these disastrous issues everywhere that you don't test.. so this option needs to be fixed/optimized.. and don't forget about the terrible useless white flash at the start.... Edge Canary has become unusable for printing and screenshots across multiple builds this week (v142.x series). The issue persists even after: Reinstalling Canary from scratch Clearing cache and resetting flags Disabling all extensions Switching between system and Edge print dialogs These features work fine in regular EdgeKB5065789 (builds du système d’exploitation 26200.6725 et 26100.6725)

I recently upgraded to version140.0.3485.14 (Official build) beta (64-bit) and noticed that my PWA, even if they open correctly in a independent window, don't show the "running window counter" on the taskbar. So, for example, if a open Outlook, the window open and loads the app, but if a I click the icon again, it opens another window, wich is a little annoying. I tried removing the PWA from Edge, rebooting, and installing again, but didn't work. Because the only change I made is updating Edge, I think is related to this build. (too lazy to go back or install the stable release)
[Wayland] PWAs no longer appear as separate app windows — all group under main Edge icon
Hi, Since around 2025-09-07 to 2025-09-10, I’ve noticed that on GNOME (Wayland) all installed PWAs (even across different profiles) now appear grouped under the main Edge browser icon in the GNOME Shell dash/taskbar. Previously, each PWA would open in its own window group with its own icon. This is still the behavior in Chromium/Brave/Chrome, and can be restored there by editing the PWA’s .desktop file to set: StartupWMClass=<same value as Icon> However, Edge now seems to ignore StartupWMClass completely on Wayland, breaking workspace separation and making task switching hard. Environment: Ubuntu 25.04 GNOME 48.0 / Mutter (Wayland) Kernel 6.14.0-29 Intel Iris Xe GPU Edge (latest stable, observed post 2025-09-13) Repro steps: Install any PWA (e.g. Outlook, Teams, Spotify) from Edge Launch it (from any profile) Observe that it appears grouped under the main Edge browser icon Expected: PWA shows under its own icon and window group like in Chromium-based browsers Actual: All PWAs are bundled into the main Edge window group Editing StartupWMClass in the .desktop file no longer helps This regression makes PWAs much harder to manage on Wayland. I know there was announcements at Ignite 2019 that Edge would come to Linux at some point. My guess is that meant builds for x86_64. I would like to ask that builds be made for ARM64 as well. With ARM64 for Windows being put out there at some point in the near future, it would be nice to see all bases covered.BrowsingDataLifetime crashes Edge
Edge 120 (stable, beta and dev) all seem to be crashing on launch when the BrowsingDataLifetime is set. I've cleared all other policies to rule out any conflicts and set the policy to the example in the policy reference. We only had the policy in test, so there's no impact to us, but it is still concerning.Mica issues again (title bar + context menus)
Weird bug again - in both Stable/Dev the title bar mica effects are not working, but the dropdown & context menu (three dot settings) is. In Canary, the title bar mica effect *is* working, but the dropdown/context menu is not (solid white). I reported via feedback as well. Canary: Dev/Stable:
Password Auto Fill has stopped working on some webpages
Yesterday everything was fine, but today, 10/1/25, the password and username autofill in the Edge wallet is no longer working on some webpages. No changes have been made to the Edge settings - ask to save password, and autofill password are still set, and the wallet contains the correct login information. But some of my frequently visited sites (mostly financial in nature) will not auto fill the login. Out of about 30 different webpages that I checked, 6 of them are not doing the auto fill. For example, my Citi ThankYou Mastercard and my US Bank Visa pages will not autofill. (They did yesterday!) But my Amazon Visa and AT&T Mastercard are still doing the normal auto fill for logging in. Directly typing the login from the keyboard still works, so I know that the passwords are correct. I have deleted cookies and web page cache. I have rebooted and double and triple checked the wallet settings, with no luck. I'm running the latest version of Edge on a Windows 11 machine. I don't know if there was any automatic update done between yesterday and today. An internet search has shown this issue being posted a few times in the past, but I didn't find either a clear cause or a fix that I haven't already tried. It seems strange that this happened on multiple webpages on the first day of the month. Did some new internet security protocol kick in?
