Go Links on Edge Mobile
Dear community members, We use Intune managed computer and Zscaler that delivers DNS Search Domain. When user type a https://go/links in Edge browser, it automatically appends the FQDN to the address bar to become https://go.mycompanydomain.com/links. It is a quite common practice for Enterprise to provide convenience to access internal shortened URLs. With Intune managed mobile (also has Zscaler), can we achieve the same goal for Edge mobile? For the mobile use case, it is less of typing the go links directly in the browser. Because there are a lot of go links shared in Email and Chats from communications and newsletters, when user click them in Outlook or Teams on the phone, it will open in Edge. I am hoping when Edge opens these links, it automatically appends the search domain like on computers. I have looked up all Intune device and Edge documentation, chatted with three different LLMs, couldn't figure out a solution. All ideas are welcome! Thanks. Best regards,
Microsoft Edge PDF Reader - signature validation warning for official signatures
Since the last edge update we are running into the following issue, which triggers support tickets on our side. It seems that the edge internal PDF Reader now supports validation of digital PDF signatures. This new feature however is incomplete and causes a lot of confusion for edge users. "Official" signatures are labeled as "Unknown Signature" and "The validity of the signature is still unknown": "Official signatures" means qualified signatures from members of the EUTL - the European trust list as defined in ETSI TS 119 612 („Trusted Lists“): [...] the European Commission publishes a central list with links to the locations where the national trusted lists are published as notified by Member States. This central list, called the List Of Trusted Lists (LOTL), is available in both a human readable format and in a format suitable for automated (machine) processing XML. Parts of the edge PDF reader seems to come from *dobe itself which adds additional confusion since in their products (*dobe reader, acrobat etc) the signatures are correctly verified. They support this list for several years now (next to their own AATL list). I tried to find out whether this feature is 'work-in-progress' or it is a bug however the last published roadmap is quite old and doesn't give helpful information regarding this aspect. Over the course of last year, we worked hard on building a powerful PDF reader that offers compatibility, reliability, and security for you and your organization. The feedback we received from you from the Edge Insider builds has been really encouraging, and here are some of the most asked features that are available today, across Windows, Mac, and Linux: Reading and Navigation: Table of Contents enables you to view the contents of PDF files and navigate to different parts seamlessly, improving your productivity. Page view enables you to view the PDF file in a book format, with the option to view the cover page separately. Caret mode lets you navigate through your PDF files and select text directly through your keyboard by enabling Caret mode by pressing F7. Accessibility support including keyboard accessibility, screen reader support, and capability to view PDFs in high contrast mode. Fill basic PDF forms directly in the browser. (Please note that XFA forms are currently not supported) Annotation tools: Ink on PDF files with colors and stroke width of your choice. Text notes can be added quickly to text in the file to jot down thoughts for easy reference later. Create highlights with Highlight mode enables you to draw attention to parts of the PDF that you find interesting. With Highlight mode, you can now create highlights directly by selecting text, as you would do with a highlighter and paper. In-context annotations opens a quick menu right when you select text on PDF files, enabling you to take quick actions as highlight, copy without losing context. Enterprise and Education: Read Aloud is now supported on PDF documents. You can use it either to retain focus while reading through it or to listen to PDF documents while multitasking! Dictionary and search through in-context menu keeps helps you understand the content and research better, while keeping you in context. Open Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) and Information Rights Management (IRM) protected PDFs and view permissions seamlessly within Microsoft Edge, without the need of any add-ins. MIP adds a layer of security to your documents. It ensures that only the users who have certain permissions such as view, copy, annotate can take those actions on the file. Hence, no matter where the document goes, the data of your organization remains secure. Viewing MIP files protected in other tenants: This will enable you to view the files protected in other organizations, or in other tenants in the organization. Certificate based Digital Signatures, which is currently under preview allows you to view and validate digital signatures present on PDF documents directly in the browser. Here are the features we’re currently working on: View recovery: On re-opening a PDF file, reach your last-read location easily. File preview of PDF files in File Explorer and Outlook Add text box annotations: Add text boxes to fill forms, or take notes on PDFs Validate Certificate based Digital Signatures: We’re currently working on adding support for signatures with long-term validity. Further down the line: Viewing labels of protected files Digital Signatures: Validating ETSI signatures Add Digital Signatures Accessibility improvements: Advanced capability to fill forms and navigate through a PDF document using screen readers. Hi there, I've been sending reports about this issue in "Feedback" of Microsoft Edge DAILY for a YEAR now ! Because of the following issues that they keep increasing with every new major update of Edge... And YES I send the diagnostic data with every feedback.. and NO it's not an issue of my Windows because this is happening on several machines with several Windows versions, and it only happens when I'm turning on "Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents" from edge://flags/ If I turn it off everything goes back to normal, but also the dark mode completely goes away! So this is related to the #enable-force-dark from the flags, don't send me steps of how to fix my Windows or how to reset Edge... The main issue is that "Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents" inverts the colors of A LOT of unrelated stuff in almost EVERY-SINGLE-WEBSTIE !!! Like logos, avatars, profile pics, emojis, some parts of the web design and even some text colors and more!! Which makes these stuff either VERY hard to see/understand OR it makes them completely invisible! 🤦🏻:male_sign: Below are some screenshots of "some" of the issues.. these aren't everything I found, these are just a few examples that I gathered to show you how bad is it.. 1- Many things in frontapp.com / app.frontapp.com like logos and emojis 2- Twitter's emojis and some of the profile pics in there 3- Lots of forums.. actually almost any forum anywhere! Enabling and forcing dark mode and all I see is WHITENESS ! and no words are visible!!! 4- Amazon... 5- DELL... 6- Disney+... 7- Frame.io video previews and almost all video previous from every website! (This started to happen since Edge v102, it was bad .. now it's worse) 8- YouTube white banners in top and bottom when you move the mouse the seek bar pops up.. (Full Screen) YouTube when you are not in full screen there is a white banner in the bottom.. YouTube seek preview if that pic/scene is dark (inverted colors) 9- LG Website (And everything like it including Amazon) 10- Nvidia.. 11- TechSpot 12- Even Your OWN SETTINGS PAGE !! I mean look at this pics carefully... does any color make any sense here?! And all these issues are nothing compared to the WHITE FLASH that blinds me for a few seconds when I start Edge!!!!! I'm using DARK MODE for everything in Edge, WHY THE HELL AM I GETTING A WHITE FLASH THAT ALMOST BLINDS ME THEN???!!!! I mean.. do you even test your stuff and changes ??? Do you test "Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents" with every major update you do ??? Because with every major update things gets worse NOT BETTER! Which means either you don't test or you don't care! 🤷🏻:male_sign: I just had a surgery for my eyes a couple of months ago and I use DARK MODE for everything I have because anything bright hurts MY EYES before and after the surgery... WE ARE NOT USING DARK MODE BECAUSE IT'S COOL, WE ARE USING IT FOR OUR EYES!! SO STOP IGNORING IT !!! These issues have been there AND INCREASING for more than a year now! And again, it's getting worse with every major update of Edge... and again, the screenshots above are just a few examples! The inverted colors are in every-single website!!! And please don't tell me to fix my Windows or Edge because as I said this is happening on every single machine with every single Windows I've tested.... And each machine/Edge has different apps and no extensions.. You guys turn on "Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents" and you will see these disastrous issues everywhere that you don't test.. so this option needs to be fixed/optimized.. and don't forget about the terrible useless white flash at the start.... So... when are these issues going to be fixed??Friend's redeemed store credit doesn't get added to account (Microsoft Rewards)
A friend of mine from Texas has been trying for a while to redeem points from the Microsoft Rewards program for store credit, mainly to buy a game she really wants to play, but she never gets the credit. She gets confirmation mail regarding the store credit, but she was never able to redeem the store credit. No code, no additional dollars added to her account, nothing. I never had this issue before, but I suppose it's simply because I'm from another country where the rewards program still allows you to redeem store credit through codes. In Texas, if I read it correctly, the store credit is supposed to be added to the account almost instantly, but it seems like the store credit is still pending. It doesn't help that it has to be spent in 3 months' time, and she had been attempting to redeem the store credit for so long that a lot of it may already be expired before she even properly receives it. She tried contacting support, but got little to nothing out of it. I'd like to get in touch with someone and see if this issue can be resolved. She is having it rough and I just can't stand there and be unable to help her. Can anyone help her (or perhaps us) out? I'd really appreciate it.
On Facebook, I can't select a number of things
When I go into settings and try to change my password, Facebook asks me to select an account--Facebook or Instagram, and Edge won't let me select either of them. When I click on notifications, and bring up replies or likes on any of my posts, I can't select anything, including likes, and I'm forced to go to my profile page in order to interact. This works fine in Google Chrome.
Microsoft edge chromium deployment
Hi, As Microsoft will discontinue IE, therefore we are deploying Microsoft Edge in our organization. I have downloaded the MIS pack and ADMX files. I can push the package in my company but it is hard to find relevant GPOs. I am missing GPO to control Edge, like Zone settings, Set Local Intranet sites, Set Trusted Sites, Set Content off, remove Office 365 App Launcher button, set language, enable time and weather. I recently updated to Edge version 141.0.3537.85 and noticed that two features I regularly use seem to have disappeared: The Secure Network (VPN) toggle is no longer visible under edge://settings/privacy/security, and I can't find any related flags. The AI assistant on the default page (Copilot or AI mode) is also missing. I'm not sure if this is a bug, a rollout change, or something specific to my setup. I haven't found other reports online, so I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. These features were important to my workflow, especially the VPN and proxy support. If they've been intentionally removed, I’d appreciate some clarification or changelog reference. If it's a bug, I hope it's being tracked. Any insights or confirmations from other users or the Edge team would be helpful.
Edge Pdf Viewer does not support page=Fit (only FitV or FitH works)
Dear community, I found that the Edge Pdf Viewer does not allow to display a pdf so that its first page fully fits into the window (no part of the PDF is out of the viewport). But I need to combine both behaviours, and thus Fit would be the right option, which seems to be ignored by Edge. When I test the same parameters in other Browsers that use a Chromium engine, it works. Microsoft Edge Version 141.0.3537.85 (Official Build) (64-Bit) Windows 11 Thanks for any advice and thoughts! We have received a lot of love from you ever since we started our journey of building a PDF reader that addresses all your annotations and form fill needs. Taking another step towards fulfilling that goal, we are now introducing a feature that lets you add text directly to your PDF documents. Do you remember the last time you encountered that annoying PDF document that was meant to be a form but had no editable fields? We are now bringing an end to all your form filling woes with the ‘Add text’ feature that lets you add text to the document with customizable font size, color, and spacing options. All you need to do is click on the button in the toolbar and place the cursor anywhere on the document to add the text box and start typing. You can also click on ‘Add text’ in the right click menu anywhere on the document to add a text box. Try it to out type in text and take notes on top and in the margins of the PDF documents you are reading! Once you have placed the text box, you can change the font color, size and text spacing through the mini menu attached to the textbox. The default font size is set to 12px which you can increase up to 48px or decrease up to 9px. The default color is set to blue you can change to black, green, or red based on what you need that day. To make your form filling experience even smoother, we retain the last textbox format set by you for as long as your PDF document is open. You can now use this tool to fill in forms or add visible notes to your PDF documents. This feature is currently present in our Canary and Dev channels and supports these languages: English, Spanish, Dutch, French, Italian, Afrikaans, Albanian, Basque, Bosnian, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Estonian, Filipino, Finnish, Galician, Hungarian, Icelandic, German, Indonesian, Irish, Lithuanian, Luxembourgish, Malay, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian, Scottish Gaelic, Slovak, Slovenian, Swedish, Turkish, Vietnamese and Welsh. [Wayland] PWAs no longer appear as separate app windows — all group under main Edge icon
Hi, Since around 2025-09-07 to 2025-09-10, I’ve noticed that on GNOME (Wayland) all installed PWAs (even across different profiles) now appear grouped under the main Edge browser icon in the GNOME Shell dash/taskbar. Previously, each PWA would open in its own window group with its own icon. This is still the behavior in Chromium/Brave/Chrome, and can be restored there by editing the PWA’s .desktop file to set: StartupWMClass=<same value as Icon> However, Edge now seems to ignore StartupWMClass completely on Wayland, breaking workspace separation and making task switching hard. Environment: Ubuntu 25.04 GNOME 48.0 / Mutter (Wayland) Kernel 6.14.0-29 Intel Iris Xe GPU Edge (latest stable, observed post 2025-09-13) Repro steps: Install any PWA (e.g. Outlook, Teams, Spotify) from Edge Launch it (from any profile) Observe that it appears grouped under the main Edge browser icon Expected: PWA shows under its own icon and window group like in Chromium-based browsers Actual: All PWAs are bundled into the main Edge window group Editing StartupWMClass in the .desktop file no longer helps This regression makes PWAs much harder to manage on Wayland. No idea what's going on there. Edge versions before 140.0.3485.81 without a problem with Excel non interactive mode, now with .81 it doesn't work anymore. i have a PowerShell Script that use the Excel COM-Object, it check Server Parameters and save this infos to a .xlsx file. Now with .81 Excel not save the file and the Sheduled Task remains in status is Running. The Script write also a TXT-File. In this i can see, that all servers check. Then i have restore the system (OS Windows Server 2025) with BackUp this monday, now with .66 the script work without a problem! I update .66 --> .81, try the script again and i have the problem again. :-) I try the same things in our Testdomain with a Windows Server 2016, Excel and myPowerShell Script. with .66 no problems with .81 Eexcel not save the file. As title said i'm forced to use only 142.0.3568 version, i've started to see issue with 142.0.3581and also todays release 142.0.3595.7 show same problem.... is there any solution? I love the lateral tabs feature and the tab groups as well, I use it a lot at my work place. However, there are at least a couple of keyboard shortcuts that should be added in order to improve the user productivity: a shortcut to open a new tab in the group the current tab belong to: when I'm working with the tabs from a given group, is like I'm working with that group, and if I open a new tab, it's very likely I want to open it in that very group. a shortcut to pin/unpin lateral tabs It goes without saying that for users who need to maximize their productivity it makes a big difference to be able to carry out the most frequent tasks by means of keyboard shortcuts.
