Waffle Error?
Here is a screen shot of the default screen waffle in Edge. If you click on or hover over the waffle you get this message. This only seems to occur in our local AD bound/based system images. On InTune deployments this isn't the case. What in our local deployment could cause this problem in the browser?DanielCayeaFeb 19, 2026Copper Contributor3.3KViews1like12CommentsCompletely disable 'Apps' in Edge via group policy
Hi Is there a way to lock-down the 'apps' functionality so that users cannot add apps/pwa's, our enterprise security policy disallows any kind of user-installation of applications of any kind. I already block the edge://apps url, but it doesn't prevent users choosing 'Install this site as an app' from the apps menu item. Any solution needs to use group policy. regards HDeltaWaspFeb 18, 2026Brass Contributor8.7KViews5likes10CommentsSite as Application
Is there currently a GPO or Registry setting to remove the "This site can be installed as an application" option? Additionally, does anyone have a list of working registry settings for Microsoft Edge? My goal is to lock down the browser so users cannot make any changes while applying specific settings via GPO or registry. Thanks in advance.Danny0132Feb 18, 2026Brass Contributor1.3KViews0likes3CommentsQuestion: Windows Enterprise / EDU Version - End of Life (EOL) Notification
Hello Microsoft Community - Enterprise, i have a general question about the Windows Enterprise / EDU Version and the End of Life (EOL) notification . I have a general question about End of Life (EOL) and the notification process. Could someone please explain and tell me exactly how is the notification process for Windows EOL in the Enterprise/EDU version? My understanding is this: For the Windows Home version, the notification is given 30 days in advance, see below. But what about the Enterprise/EDU version? Is it 36 months in advance? For products and services governed by the https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/policies/modern, unless otherwise noted, Microsoft's policy is to provide a minimum 30 days' notification when customers are required to take action in order to avoid significant degradation to the normal use of the product or service. I would appreciate your help.TrooperDEFeb 18, 2026Copper Contributor11Views0likes0CommentsMy Work feed is missing on the Edge landig page with Beta 144.0.3719.18
Since introduction of Beta 144.0.3719.18 the Work / Discover is changed to Discover only on the landingpage. See below: This means that the handy Microsoft 365 information are missing (Latest documents, Sharepoint sites and comming up events). Stable version 143.0.3650.96 does not have this issue, next to MSN there is a toggle (Work Discover) to choose from. More people seen this behaviour? When installing MicrosoftEdgeBetaEnterpriseX64.msi (current Version 80.0.361.48) I get following MSI Error 1722: Product: Microsoft Edge for Business- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. At first, I thought it was being caused by the update-restriction being applied via GPO (ADMX), but even without this GPO settings applied or by reverting the corresponding setting in the registry, the installation fails as well. The issue occurs on 57 from 240 workplaces (Windows 10 build 1709), but also on one Windows 10 build 1903. Remaining 1709 builds successfully installed the application. Hello, I am using Edge browser Version 142.0.3595.80 (Official build) (64-bit), on Linux. When downloading a file , and trying to open the downloaded file from wihin browser, it causes edge browser instances to close. I have been using other browsers to get around the problem. Is this a known problem, and are there a solution to this problem? When installing MicrosoftEdgeBetaEnterpriseX64.msi (current Version 77.0.235.20) I get following MSI Error 1722: Product: Microsoft Edge Beta -- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. After some investigation I found out, that the configured EdgeUpdate Policy results in this Error. Update-Policy as follows: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate] "UpdateDefault"=dword:00000000 "InstallDefault"=dword:00000000 "AutoUpdateCheckPeriodMinutes"=dword:00000000 To solve the MSI Installation Problem I had to delete the EdgeUpdate Policy prior to start the MSI-Installation: reg DELETE HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate /f This seems to be a bug which should be fixed. The UpdatePolicy configures the Automatic Online-Update behavior - but should not result in MSI-Errors when deploying the Package by on-premise software-distribution Solutions.Gunnar-HaslingerDec 04, 2025Steel Contributor31KViews4likes7CommentsStolen session token from Edge
We can steal the session token from Edge using tools like Burp Suite or Fiddler to intercept proxy traffic on the mobile phone, even when the Edge is MAM protected by Intune. This makes the Edge browser unsafe to use for Enterprise Applications on personal mobile. Recently I discovered that the https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/entra/identity/conditional-access/concept-token-protection in Conditional Access Policy. However it is only available for Windows. I am wondering if anyone knows when it would become available for mobile on Entra roadmap. Also, if you know any Edge configuration, I could use to stop Token Theft, please let me know! Thank you everyone.nhtkidNov 20, 2025Iron Contributor253Views0likes2Comments
