josh_bodner videos aren't working well on twitter... video and audio syncro is broken and rendering isn't ok.

I can confirm Twitter videos have severe performance degradation on 77.0.230.2 (but the 4K 360 bug seems to be fixed on YouTube?).

ikjadoon I can also confirm that as of this mornings update Videos and in particular GIF's are stuttering badly in Twitter. Eevrything else seems ok though.
UPDATE: Actually now LOST all audio for ANY video's that are played in this mornings Edge update.

Since this update some websites looks disorted. Also LastPass extension (from Edge Insider Addons).

josh_bodner How does "Added the ability to mark up screenshots with ink." work exactly? What I mean is, does Edge dev has a builtin screenshot functionality having inking abilities now and if so where do I find this functionality. I did a quick search for it and nothing stood out to me.
- tmonsterBrass Contributor
Sdfendor yes - go to the Ellipsis menu -> Help & Feedback -> Send Feedback
Hover over the screenshot and you should see "Edit this screenshot"
Click on it.
You will now be able to mark up.
It looks not good in its current form. I seriously hope Microsoft uses XAML Islands for this in the future. This looks like some hackneyed Win32 custom implementation and produces jagged lines.
josh_bodner do you have any updates to share about broader inking support in the new Edge and if it will use the Win10 XAML Islands feature? I hope it does because Edge and Win10 have excellent inking but not on desktop apps. The inking for the screenshots right now is not even close to what the native Edge provides.

tmonster thanks for this, not the kind of "screenshot" feature I was expecting. Thought it was more in the vein of the "Add Notes" feature in the current Edge.

Twitter / Instagram Story video fix:
- edge:flags
- Enable the use of SurfaceLayer objects for videos. -> Disabled
(This does NOT break PiP support for YouTube)
- fred1995Brass Contributor
- henrik32259Brass ContributorI'm seeing Reddit video problems too. Gfycat videos do not play well within reddit site, but same video works fine at gfycat site. Also noticed that if I make my Edge browser window real narrow then the video plays fine.
- igotinfectedCopper Contributor
Toff-kun this fixed Reddit media playback, but not Twitch streams. Very stuttery.
- igotinfectedCopper Contributor
An update to the video playback issue:
I'm running one 144hz and one 60hz monitor. Twitch streams work perfectly fine on the 144hz monitor, but break (very choppy playback) when I move the window over to the 60hz monitor (all default flags). This does not affect Reddit media playback (broken on either monitor, as in some parts of the image don't refresh for several seconds).
- Julian_KnightCopper ContributorDoes not fix the problem on my SB2. It does marginally improve it but still has lots of dropped frames and tearing.
- Deleted
when are going to fix the favorites bar folder behavior?
If I open a folder and the mouse cursor is not fully above the favbar, I can't move to another folder directly.
Example:
The mouse cursor has to be like this, example:

josh_bodner thanks for the update!
New features and behavior:
- Added the ability to mark up screenshots with ink.
Curious to know how to get this to work? Is there any other details available?
Cheers.

Another nice minor change with version 77.0.203.2 is that opening "managing printers" now defaults to the modern Windows 10 Printer and Scanners instead of the classic printers section from Control Panel.

josh_bodner How do we stop videos from auto playing on sites. On the usual Edge we could go to settings .. advanced and there was setting to stop them playing, can't find that in this version of edge.

josh_bodner Cheers for the update!
Was this icon change intentional? 🧐 I seem to have gotten the Edge icon without the green "dev" banner.
- Dennis5mileSilver ContributorI just checked mine and I have the green banner on edge dev...
Dennis5mile- ikjadoonBronze Contributor
Ah! Maybe the icon switcheroo is a weird bug on my end.
(but that Twitter video bug is 100% real and is happening on all my machines)
- savuialexCopper ContributorMine's the same as before but I wish it changed because I don't like the green stripe at all.
- ikjadoonBronze Contributor
savuialex I'm on Windows 10 1803, but perhaps a bug related to this upcoming change. Once it's out of dev, the stable build won't have any stripes or unusual colors, most likely.
The actual Chromium Edge Dev executable has the correct icon, but just the taskbar icon is off. Not a serious bug, but it's made me wonder if the stable build isn't too far away? Microsoft is using Chromium 77; meanwhile, Google will release Chrome 77 Stable on September 12th. I wonder whether Edge canary / dev / stable will follow Google's release schedule. Just yesterday, both dev builds aligned:
Chrome stable: Chromium 76
Chrome dev: Chromium 77
Chromium canary: Chromium 78
Edge stable: ??
Edge dev: Chromium 77
Edge canary: Chromium 77
- jairjaramilloCopper Contributor
ikjadoon I hope this is intentional. The "dev" banner is kinda ugly and as a dev, I already know what branch I am using; there is no need to see it on my taskbar.

If you Shift + Right-click on the Edge icon in the taskbar while Edge is closed, then you can access the regular shortcut icon right-click menu. You can then edit the shortcut properties, including the icon image.

The latest update has fixed the problem with the Lastpass extension becoming corrupt when updating Edge Dev.
The newest update also has a nice minor change to the InPrivate icon that makes it easier to see.
- Dennis5mileSilver Contributorjeffbrown66 For me, LastPass and Norton Safe Web have been fixed for the last couple of updates or so...
Dennis5mile- jeffbrown66Brass Contributor
Well, then I am not sure what happened. The two prior Edge Dev updates before 77.0.203.2 corrupted Lastpass and required a repair to work properly.
- Michael JonesBrass Contributor
jeffbrown66 for me, as of this build, Lastpass now is 'borked' in that when I click on the browser button for it and try to fill, copy, or edit, the buttons on the pulldown 'move' up and become largely unclickable. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin, but no difference in action. Don't know if that's why you guys have been seeing? But this is the first time for me seeing it.
No issues in Classic Edge with the plugin. I'm using the Chrome plugin in Dev Edge.
- jonbartCopper ContributorI'm also having this issue with LastPass. Same with the fill and other options jumping up and becoming hard to click

Like the Alphabetical listing for Edge Favorite Tabs but would much like to be able to enter first letter to automatically scroll immediately to those tabs starting with that letter.
It would make getting to any tab so much quicker and easier than having to use scroll wheel to run down the list. I have rather a large number of favorite tabs and manually scrolling through them is time consuming and sometimes difficult to stop at desired item.
Maybe not possible but would sure be appreciated by me, anyway.
Think the new Edge is terrific!
